Well, I know we are all disappointed with the way Armageddon's story turned out, so I've decided to take elements from what has happened in MKA's Konquest Mode, and pair them with my own ideas to create a decent tale for this generation's last MK. So without further adieu, let me start...
MORTAL KOMBAT ARMAGEDDON - THE WAY IT SHOULD'VE BEEN
PROLOGUE: THE PROPHECY
A vast, empty desert - the wind howling, sand billowing through the air. The specks of dust glittered in the hot sunlight like many little stars. The reflections were caught in the eyes of a lone individual. Upon a high cliff stood a temple over looking the blank plain. A balcony jutted out from the side of the structure, where Argus, the God and protector of Edenia, stood solemnly. His eyes were tightly shut. He pondered the act which he had just performed. A million things raced through Argus' mind. Two of which were the memories of his sons.
'I know this is difficult, but I have to be strong. Not only for me, but for them. They are the realms only hope, but I cannot think that I have betrayed them by submitting both their souls to this unstoppable event. Taven, Daegon - please forgive. But you will understand when the time comes.'
The old figure let out a sigh, as his body heaved slighty. He blinked his eyes and let the harsh sun enter his perception. The landscape that layed before him resembled his soul. He felt empty, torn. Yet it must be this way.
'Delia, why did you have to forsee this unspeakable event that will plague us all? These mortals, delusional in their strength. They are at fault! If I did not care so much for the innocents, I would let the realms end as they were, and let them learn pity for the souls of others. I cannot be mad at all of those warriors, as some of them were only attempting to help. Confusing renders my mind unthinkable! Even as a god, I can not answer my own questions!'
A voice snapped Argus out of his angered trance. It soothed his spirit, lifting him like he was ascending into the Heavens like before. He turned around and faced his sorceress wife, Delia. As impossible as it might seem at this moment, a smile crept upon Argus' determined face.
"Argus, the task is done. The pyramid has been finished, buried deep under the surface of this bleak desert. Blaze has been informed of his mission, he will do so until called upon. And both of our sons have been safely hidden away, unconscious until the apocalypse nears."
Delia paused for a slight moment. The breeze made her light orange dress waver, forming against her slender body. The veil conceiled her wary eyes, though she could still she into her husband's soul.
"I sense your fear Argus, do not fear. Orin and Caro while keep a close watch over them, the will make sure Taven and Daegon awaken."
Argus turned back around leaning against the balcony's railing, peering at the ground far below. Delia put a hand upon her husband's shoulder, embracing him.
"I know you speak words of truth, but what if something should go wrong? Not only could our children be destroyed, but the very fabric of the realms. The One Being has been said to return one day. I feel as if that day draws closer and closer every passing minute."
Delia spoke softly, but reassuringly as well, "I share your same feelings my dear, but that is just the risk we will have to take. Perhaps if the One Being does return, it is for the best. What the people of the realms might achieve could be even worse than not existing anymore. The pain, the hurt - it would all be gone. I place my full trust in Blaze to decide the winner rightfully. Taven and Daegon will do the most they can to prevent Armageddon."
Argus said nothing. He watched the snowy-white clouds move splendidly agains the darkening sky. Purple, red, orange, and blue created a mood like no other. A mood which would reflect the coming doom.
"Let us leave Argus, we must return to Edenia. Maybe one day, we shall return to recollect upon this scene with both our boys, and the realms will be a more peaceful place."
"Yes, yes. You are quite right Delia. Let us go. There is nothing more we can do here. Let us just hope that we will be able to return..."
The couple began to teleport away, as Argus gave one last look at the palette laden sky.

Well, I really like the establishment of Delia, Argus, Taven, and Daegon, so I have decided to keep that section of the story, as well as the final moment at the pyramid with Blaze. But everything else will be different, and go along with what has been established through Deception. Enjoy! (The first chapter might be up tonight, so keep a look out.)
CHAPTER 1: THE AWAKENING
Argus words still hung in the air, like a rank smell that stains upon the fabric of time. Just as Delia has forseen, Armageddon was quickly approaching. Many years have past since the the plans to stop the destruction of the realms had been finished. Now, the actual process would begin.
In a disclosed location in Earthrealm, deep within a dark, damp cave, a figure stirred. Through the blackness, two golden orbs appeared. They hung in the air, like two tiny blazing suns. A heavy breathing resounded throughout the halls of the space, and then a stream of fire burst out of no where. Lightining many torches placed upon the walls, the room filled with a bright light. The first noticable thing was a gigantic dragon coiled around a rock pillar. It's skin was a dark hued gold, like plating of a piece of jewlery. The beast turned to look at a large boulder opposite it. Inscribed upon the object were many symbols in Edenian scripture. They began to glow brighter with every passing second, as the rock began to shake violently. Suddenly, bits and pieces flew everywhere, as a young man emerged from the chamber conceiled inside. Stumbling around, he regained his balance.
"Where... where am I?"
The person was Taven, son of Argus and Delia, finally awoken to perform the quest his person had given him. Peering around at his new surroundings, the first thing he saw was the dragon. Instantly he recognized it.
"Orin! What's going on? Where am I?" He demanded, perplexed.
"Taven, relax. I know you are in a fog right now, but if you listen to me, I will answer all your questions." Orin paused slightly, waiting to see if he had calmed. "Long ago, your parents decided that you and your brother would embark on a journey in the future. This quest would be of utmost importance to the survival of the realms. It would decide your fate, their fate. The fate of reality itself. As your father has likely told you, their once was a being. This One Being, as he is called, challenged the power of the Elder Gods. An epic battle was forced between the opposing sides, but good finally prevailed. The One Being's existance was shattered into the realms, six main ones to be exact. The artifacts known as the Komidogu were made to prevent the One Being from ever returning. Scattered throughout Earthrealm, Netherealm, Chaosrealm, Orderealm, Outworld, and Edenia, they were hidden away. Many came under the influence of the One Being, tricked into attempting to unite the Komidogu back together. All had failed, until now. The Dragon King, a former ruler of Outworld, has returned, and in his possession are all six artifacts. All he has to do now is bring them to the location where your father built a great pyramid. When he does, it shall rise from the Earth, and he will be faced with defeating Blaze. If he does so, the One Being's essence will be formed back together. However, there is an alternative. One does have a choice on whether to reform the Komidogu, or destroy them all at once. If one does choose to rid of the devices, godly power will be bestowed upon that warrior. Then he will have watch over the power of the One Being."
Taven pondered over this immense tale that Orin had just told. What did he have to do with it all?
"Now this is where you play a role Taven. As I have stated, your mother and father placed you here under my protection here in Earthrealm until necessary. You and your brother have been given the task of accquiring the Komidogu and bringing it to your father's pyramid. Which ever of you reaches the location first shall be granted godship and defender of the realms. However, it will not be easy, as you will grow to learn others desire this power as well. Do not let them achieve it. If you succeed, you must decided the fate of these others. It is up to you what happens to them. We are running out of time. Now, your father told me when you arise from you slumber that you must go to his temple and speak with him. I will create a portal for you now."
Taven listened, stunned at what he had just heard. 'Mother and father...how can they be so assured that Daegon and I can complete this task? What if I fail? It will be my fault the realms are destroyed! I can't let this happen!'
A gold portal formed in front of Taven, going perpetually in circles, two dragons swimming around the edge. He stepped closer to it, hesitating. Orin spoke.
"Taven, I already have the answer to your question. If your mother and father did not believe in you, they would not have placed this enormous problem within your grasp. Now, there's no time to waste, consult your father, he is waiting for you!"
With one last consideration at his future, he jumped through the portal.

Well, fans were complaining about how the Komidogu were abandoned, I incorporated it to tie in with the pyramid some way. Not sure what you fans think of it, but hey - at least it's better than what they did. Also, the action is sure to start next chapter, which should be written tomorrow.
CHAPTER 2: MIND, BODY, & SOUL
The tomb of the Dragon King stood still. Outside, the sound of a fierce sand storm barely vibrated throughout the walls of the giant pyramid. No sign of life had been here in centuries. The stone walls were crumbling, rubble lay on the stone floor, accumulation from the years of aging. A tiny spider crawled across the resting tomb of Onaga's original body, then halted as a loud grinding sound emitted from the entrance hall. It scurried away as a dim light broke through the darkness. Quietly entering was Queen Sindel, and alongside her Jade. Creeping towards the body that lay silently, the ruler of Edenia spoke.
"This is it. The palace of slumber for what was original the Dragon King. Can you not feel the power here Jade?"
Jade, who was peering around suspiciously answered vaguely, "Yes, yes it does. Maybe too much power for someone who is deceased." She had a strange feeling that they were being watched. Jade stopped and listened closely for signs of movement.
Sindel crossed through the hall over to a pillar holding up the large structure. Aincient writing was carved into it. She instantly recognized it as an old form of Edenian scripture which had not been used for a long time. This was the incantation Sindel was looking for. This would tear Onaga's soul from Reptile's possessed body and send him straight to the Netherealm, where Nightwolf was waiting to trap it for eternity.
"Jade, I have found the spell. Now I must perform it over his carcass, then his horrible rule will be ended."
"Alright your highness, but I think we should be quick about it. Something does not seem right..." She glanced around the tomb again, but the little light made it difficult to see what hid in the shadows.
As Sindel stood over the tomb, staring at the remains of Onaga's original body, she spoke the words. A green aura started to glow around her, casting her conciousness from the room. Sindel was in a mindless state at this moment, a very critical one - as Onaga and the enslaved Kitana emerged from the darkness.
"Queen Sindel, I believe we have a problem!" No answer, she was gone. "Well, I see I'm on my own now."
The large footsteps crashed throughout the building, clouds of dust falling like stars from the Heavens. The unwise Kitana sulked slightly behind.
With a boom, Onaga roared to the two infiltrators. "You and your precious Queen's plans are unfortunately going to be cut short. You should have known better than to sneak behind the Dragon King's back. I see EVERYTHING!" His very voice made Jade stumble back a few feet, the force that powerful. "Before I kill you, however, I will have a bit of fun. Kitana! Attack them! Show no mercy!" He let out a harsh laugh, as the Princess sprung at Jade.
Kitana devoted no recognition to her former friend, as she threw out a violent fury of punches. Jade avoided them as best as possible. She did not want to harm Kitana. As the Princess forced another kick out, Jade grab her and put Kitana in a hold. She could not hold her, as Jade was elbowed in the stomach, allowing Kitana to pull her fans out. She lifted Jade up in the air against one of the rock pillars with her weapons. Kitana attempted to throw her other fan at Jade's head, but Jade managed to pull her staff out and deflect it. It went flying back at her friend's head, rendering Kitana unconscious.
Sliding back down to the ground, Jade witnessed Queen Sindel thrusting her weapon through Onaga's shriviled heart, casting his soul out of Reptile's body and back into his own. A blast of green light filled the room, and blinded Jade for a couple of seconds. When she opened her eyes again, Sindel was grabbing onto the tomb for support. She rushed over to her master and helped her up.
With what strength she had left, Sindel spoke, "The deed is done. We can only hope Nightwolf will perform his duty, or may our souls rest in peace."
"No need to worry, my Queen. Nightwolf is an able warrior. I'm sure he did what he had to."
"I only hope," Sindel said as she glanced over at Kitana's body. "Daughter!" She ran over to the princess and shook her awake. Kitana wearily opened her eyes, as tears began to emit from them.
"Mother!" All three of the women held each other for this brief peaceful moment. Jade knew that they must get back to reality, and moved them along.
"We must get going. Edenia needs our assistance at this critical point. Let us leave this horrid place."
They exited the structure, but unlike before they entered, there was still a sign of life. Nightwolf had seemingly not accomplished his task, as one of Onaga's fingers contracted slightly, signifying his reign was still opposed.

Well, that clears up the disturbance of why Reptile and Onaga are together at the same point. Nightwolf didn't complete his goal of trapping the Dragon King's soul in Hell, which you will find out why later.
<~~~CHAPTER III: FRIEND OR FOE~~~>
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
Thunder crashed throughout the barren landscape, lightning filling every crevice and rock that lay solemnly across the mountainous area. The silhouette of a large, forboding palace was casted in the sky. This was the Dragon King's fortress. An evil, menacing place, where Onaga ruled with a wary gaze upon the people of Outworld.
Among the shadows crept two unseen warriors, fast approaching. Stealthy and quick, they snuck through a side entrance into the building, quiet as mice. It was the spirit of Liu Kang, and the telekenetic fighter Ermac. Glancing down the empty halls, and silent rooms, they made their way to the Dragon King's throne. Here they would clash with him, destroy the Komidogu, and prevent the One Being from returning.
Something was bothering Ermac, however, something which could not be explained in physical means. It was as if the very fabric of the realms was trying to toy with him, deliver a message of means. Whatever it was, Ermac could not deal with it right now, he had to be ready for anything. The ghostly figure of Liu Kang strode in front of him, creating an eerie light upon the gray walls. He then stopped, hovering slightly above the floor.
"I think his throne room should be located around this area. Can you try to sense where it is Ermac?"
The mute, clairvoyant man nodded. Concentrating with the utmost intensity, a green field began to cover his figure. He hummed with an other-wordly power, an began to lift off the ground. After a few seconds, he descended, and spoke,
"It is down the next hall, to the left. But the door is sealed tightly shut. We must find another mean to get inside. There is another point as well. I sense something of great force ahead. It seems like many different objects, but all acting as one. I warn you to be on the lookout."
Continuing on, the encountered the door which Ermac had seen. Liu Kang, in a whisp of essence, floated through the tight locked barricade. Ermac teleported after him. The huge chamber was empty. A soft glow of fire from a ring in the center of the room glowed softly, illuminating the sharp spikes which circled around it. The sight was slightly unsettling to the brave fighters. As they proceeded in, both noticed the Komidogu were missing. They had fallen right into a trap. Like clockwork, the possessed Johnny Cage, Sonya, Kung Lao, and Jax jumped from the balcony above into their fighting stances. Liu Kang was horrified at what had become of his allies. Yet, he knew what he had to do - the fate of the realms were at stake.
"I will take Johnny Cage and Kung Lao," exclaimed the Shaolin warrior.
"I believe I can handle the other two."
Jumping into action, they began to kombat. While it seemed Onaga's slaves would be able to gain the upperhand, they were having difficult beating Ermac and Liu. Johnny Cage threw a fury of punches, which Kang evaded. Launching one of his green forceballs, it flew in and out of the spirit's body. Liu lunge at him with a flying kick, sending him backwards. Kung Lao attempted to dive at Liu, but he was grabbed and tossed into Cage. Ermac was having as much luck as well. Jax performed a ground pound, which he easily levitated over. In the air, Sonya flew at him with a square wave punch, but was sent into Jax as well.
Suddenly, the mindless kombatants fell to the ground, coming to their senses. Rolling around on the floor, they came to their regular selves.
"What's happening?" Questioned Liu. "Something must have happened to Onaga! They are free of his curse!" Rejoicing together with his old comrades, Ermac was aside with himself. That sensation he experienced on the way in had once again returned. All he could think of was the One Being.

The cold night air blew shrilly through the peaks of Onaga's palace, shrieking like the tortured souls in the Netherealm, agony - pain. The noise was splitting in Shujinko's ears. He had once heard those cries before, when he ventured into Hell to find the Komidogu located there. `And for what?' he questioned himself. Venturing to that despicable place only stained his soul and brought a horrible, impending fate to all the realms. Shujinko had been going hard on himself lately, the guilt was laying into him like a knife through butter. `I deserve this miserable life which has befallen me! If I had not been so vain, so ambitious, so ignorant, none of this would be occurring!'
Slowing his stride, he halted and leant against the railing. Shujinko exhaled, peering over the sheer edge. Looking at the ground far below made him nauseous. The world started to spin around him. A thought raced through his mind - `What if I just jumped? All my worries would vanish, all my troubles gone.' Spinning...spinning...spinning. Shujinko was on the verge of regurgitating. He moved closer over the edge, as if somebody were controlling his body. A sharp spike invaded his body, a searing sensation burning his mind.
A evil, diabolical voice filled his head, pure hatred. ``SHUJINKO! YOUR MISERABLE WRETCH OF A LIFE IS NOT EVEN WORTHY OF THIS DEATH! YOU HAVE FAILED, THE DRAGON KING WILL UNITE THE KOMIDOGU! I WILL RETURN! JUST DO IT. CREEP NEARER TO THE EDGE, IT WILL BE QUICK, UNFEELING.''
``No!'' Shujinko, stumble backwards, fighting the immense power. Regaining his senses, he dodged just in time, as a spear went flying through where his head was just located.
``Get over here!'' Enticed a familiar voice.
Shujinko turned around to face the spectre he encountered on his quest for the Komidogu. He stared into those blank, white eyes, mesmerizing him into a trance. It was cold behind them, a soul so dark, that it seemed hope was not even a concept.
``We have unfinished business, ``Champion.'' Look at this mess you have created! I have no reason to live anymore, but there are others deserving of life. However, you are not one of them! We must pick the pieces up behind which you have scattered recklessly. I am a tool of the Gods now. And what have they done for me? Nothing. They let my family be taken, slaughtered, my clan as well. Now because of you, I am their slave for eternity! Fool - if you would have cooperated the first meeting, I might have spared your pathetic soul. That is entirely out of the question now! Time to die!''
Scorpion unsheathed his weapon and ran full force at Shujinko, who barely had time to flip over him and bring out his own weapon. The two swords clashed with each other, sparks flying. This went on ferociously, until Scorpion landed a kick to the old man's face. Stunned, Scorpion teleported away. Regaining his composure, Shujinko circled around in search of his opponent. Suddenly, a there was a swirling noise and he was hit hard in the back of the head, sending Shujinko flying through a wall. After the crumbling and dust settled, Scorpion walked over to the stunned master.
``Now that I have given myself proper closure in my beliefs about you, your time has ended!'' The ninja spectre reached to pull his mask off, but was taken aback when a group of Tarakata appeared on the roof, lead by Tanya.
``Both of you, halt right there!'' She commanded with an air of superiority. ``Seize them this instant, signaling the Tarakata to move in.'' However, there chance was gone the moment they proceeded forward, as a large boulder shrouded in flames flew towards the palace. In a flash of rubble and light, Scorpion was gone, and many of the Tarakata dead. The rest went for Shujinko, who put up a good stand. One was thrown over the side, plummeting to his death. Another sent flying through the glass windowpane over the throne room. He was soon over powered, and taken captive. Tanya let out a cruel and unusual laugh.
``Onaga will be most pleased to see you, old man. After all, he has told me he really never got a chance to thank you for resurrecting him. Instead, you fled like the coward that you really are. Even convincing you that you were the Elder God's Champion makes me chuckle inside.'' Shujinko hacked up spit in her face, in which she proceeded to slap him, and lead him away to the dungeon. ``The rest of you prepare our catapults and turrets! Shao Kahn's forces are nearing!'' More balls of fire flew towards the domain, shaking its foundations. All the while Shujinko was pondering on the corrupt voice that had almost ended his life. There was something much more to this plot....

The meeting with Scorpion and Shujinko seemed like a great idea to me, the undead ninja really needed to kick some ass after we were forced to beat him in Konquest Mode (because we all know who would have really won.) Besides, we all like to see the old man get beat on! Also, I wanted to emphasis that Tanya is a bitch. Hope it got through.
