I was working on this a while back, if you remember. I showed them to bleed when he started doing his Scorpion improvements, to see what amazing things he could do with the idea, but he was busy doin some oof his 3d work. EDIT: I've removed the WIP links.

Personally, I've always been a bit resistant to the idea that Smoke needs to be anything like Scorpion, but the Kusarigama fanon is a nice enough compromise.
Did you give any thought to using the sickle as the snagging implement?
I gather it's not actually historically accurate, but there's a bit of a fictional precedent for it, and it strikes me as a bit more visually dynamic than the streamlined look of the weighted end (which I also gather might not be any more historically accurate, in this use).
The light highlights maybe take away from it's weight, too.
Lacks a certain dark room foil prop look some of the other digitized metal had, or something. Otherwise, really awesome. Good job turning it into a move.

I agree with Mick that he should throw the sickle end. If it's just a projectile that smacks them in the face and that's it, it's fine as-is, but if those sprites are supposed to replicate the effect of the spear, it doesn't make sense for the blunt end of the chain to hook people.

There, made an expanded set of mokes for Kusarigama Smoke:

He drops the chain sickle at his feet when he dies. Use Smoke's normal fatality/death sprites. I can't wait to see him in action in MKP. Exciting! I now have 2 full characters under my belt. The 1st being the Lin Kuei Grandmaster!
So whaddya think guys? Comments, criticism?
Yes, I'm trying to keep it historically accurate, but there are fantasy elements still. Such as the ground special, and how the chain's length changes for some things, such as the snare special.
I'm not doing anything more with the kama end right now. He's done, done.

Good job. I personally think the kusarigama is one of the coolest weapons for ninja-characters.
