I have 4 requests if it's alright. Making an MKD Mugen.

1. Ahsrah's MKD Alternate Costume (Easy to do with Sonya MK1 or MK3)

2. Kabal's MKD Alternate Costume (Easy to do with Kabal MK3)

3. Kabal's MKD Primary Costume (Easy to do with Stryker MK3)

4. Ashrah's MKD Primary Costume (Easy to do with Arctic's Ashrah *just modify it so it looks cool. NO OFFENSE ARCTIC*)

Any more if you have them for MKD would be nice. NO Spritesheets though.

Some of the recommendations might nt work for you unless you use paint.

Killer shit. I wish MKRocket and Sub-Zedox were still around. They would make sprites look clean similar to yours. As for the competition, we do need more blood. It's 1 Fake and 1 Fake Animation, anything goes. Deadline May 1st.

GoobieDoob, Ok, they will be done by Saturday, but I don't get you, do I have to use MS Paint or i can use Paint.NET? Also do you need only one sprite or like all the sprites for MUGEN? If you need all of them, I'll try to finish on 1st of May

It took me long time to draw all those accessories and clothes Anyway it's made from MK3 Sub Zero (head) and MK2 Jonny Cage (body), everything else was drawn with the brush tool by me. Rate it out of 5. I would rate it as 3.8/5

EDIT: I dunno what's woth those 2 white dots on his leg, I didn't draw them, I even checked now, it's not on my image, dunno where they appeared from Also the colour of the clothes changed a bit too.

Yep, I sure did. Your backgrounds are good, but they could've been a lot better, I mean the foreground looks good, but the background doesn't blend with it, because it has a higher definition. Try pixelating them and then bluring them a little more, so they blend together. Just play with the effects and choose the best ones Also, what program are you using to make that game? M.U.G.E.N.? Oh, and I'll try making some backgrounds, may be post them.

Kira needs more shading on her clothes and skin.

Pick a side/corner where the light should be and fade to the opposite side (make the pixel colors gradually darker).

Keep in mind the shape of a human body and where things are round and stick out, there would be lighter pixels.

I was shading it, but you can't see it properly on the jacket, because its black. I used levels 1,2,3,5,7 and 9 of black to shade it, but you can't see it very well.

Your making it a little TOO 3D(ish). She then wont fit with the other characters.

The amount of shading in blacksaibot's edit is pretty spot on with other sprites in the game.



It's important to remember that the sprites were made from video footage of real people with real lighting, so naturally there will be some "3D" effect to it rather than a more hand drawn look.

Whoa, blacksaibot! That's great! I really want to learn how to shade like that! It's just I'm just practising, I never used the brush tool before that crappy MKDA Scorpion, though, I suck at it. I also need to practice other effects, but there's not much really in Paint.NET. Did you use PS or Paint shop pro?

P.S. I think my best one is Shinnok, I think I shaded him kinda better than the others.

I basically used a brush called Lighten/Darken and drew the light areas (basically just making the colors brighter) and then drew the dark areas (darkening the colors).

I honestly think I'm still a noob when it comes to shading. There are pros around here that can shade AND draw materials like cloth to give it a more realistic look (like the guys fake picture I posted a few days ago with Scorpion killing Liu Kang). I don't know how he does it, but he does it good.
