Reiko walks down a hall, having received a comission from Shao Kahn. more orders to kill more innocents, he supposed. he had become accompanied to the bloodshed after 50,000 years of doing this. he had been feeling something dark inside him since his mission to assassinate Shinnok. perhaps that he was becoming the portrait of the word 'evil'. when he first joined the high ranks of Shao Kahn those eons ago, he felt he was doing a great good for his land... the same one he had leveled 80 years ago. his home city had revolted and the emporrer ordered it be eliminated, so, without any remorse whatsoever, he did just that and personally tortured those responsible.

"was it only eighty years ago?" he asked himself a loud.

he stopped in his tracks. someone was behind him, he could feel it. he looked around to see a red ninja. he opened his mouth to talk to general Ermac, but before he could utter a word, a door swung off its hinges and flew at him. he punched through it and batted away a torch that flew from behind him. it was Ermac's assault. he knew not why his fellow general would be attacking him, but he would ask questions later. just like he always did.

three torches flew off the wall and swatted at him. Reiko dodged the first one and got hit in the back by the second one. he fell to the floor, but rolled away before the third smacked against the ground. while rolling, he took out three shurikens and flung them at the torches. they shattered and the stars stuck in the wall.

another door swung off its hinges and flew at him. Reiko ran up the wall, grabbed his shurikens, jumped off and kicked the flying door into splinters, then threw his stars at Ermac.

At Shao Kahn's request, Mileena and Ermac are summoned in his throne room.

Mileena and Ermac bowed just before Kahn began: "I heard that my enemies are planning something. You two are my most loyal troops and I chose you for two of my most important missions. Ermac. There is a blind warrior from Earthrealm who just lost use of his eyes because of the traitorous Shang Tsung. He is a new recruit to the special forces. He has a very special katana sword and I want it. Ermac, you will find and dispose of him. If you fail this mission, you will never be given another mission. Now tell me how you dealt with Reiko, then leave Mileena and I alone." Ermac bowed again and replied in echoes: " ********AllHailGoro's part**********." He the added "As you wish Emperor, we will bring back the head of this man and his sword" just before he vanished in a burst of fire.

"Mileena. What has happened yesterday at the village ? Weren't you supposed to be scouting the living forest ? At first I could seem very disappointed by all of this, but considering you brought me Shujinko's heart, I will spare you my anger Tell me, Mileena, what happened ?"

Mileena grinned and hastily answered: "I spied on him while he was teaching mi zong techniques to an outworlder female. As soon as I recognized him, I ambushed him. Ghurka came to give help, but he was of no use and was defeated by the woman. She was almost dead though, so I took the chance Ghurka gave me and made sure every peasant would fear the name of Shao Kahn...."

"I am proud of you Mileena." replied Shao Kahn.
After thousand of years alonside her, he could know Mileena had ripped the woman's head off with her Tarkatan teeth, something Mileena loved to do.
"Continue..." he added.

"After the woman was executed, Shujinko came behind me to attack, but I could sense his presence... I surprised him by teleporting behind him and I stabbed an energy sai in his back, he fell flat. I took him by the clothes and whispered to him: Now you will pay the price of treason against the emperor Shao Kahn.... But then things got complicated..."

"I want every detail Mileena" he said harshly.

"...... Shujinko hit me in the eyes with his fingers. I think in all these centuries of battling I never felt something as painful. Shujinko was a great warrior after all. The next thing I knew I was pierced in the left shoulder by a sharp blade attached on the end of a rope. He reeled me back and uppercutted me. I landed beside Ghurka and the woman. A peasant ran towards me with a pitchfork but I threw an energy sai at his weapon. His pitchfork broke and only the staff remained. I got back on my heels and did a frankeinsteiner to him. He landed before Shujinko. I took the staff and went on rampage towards them. the Earthrealm protector Raiden suddenly appeared.

"What did he say ?" asked Shao Kahn.

If I remember right, he said "The fate of this realm shall be decided by the Mortal Kombat tournament." and he added "If you do not cease your attacks, then I shall deal with you all personally. Tarkata, run back to your emperor and tell him, I shall be entering."

Shao Kahn thought for a moment and said: "Your version fits CuDrak's*. If Raiden wants to challenge me, I won't disappoint him. But there is much to be done before. Continue Mileena"

"So after Raiden vanished, the tarkata and the peasants scattered and I told CuDrak To bring Ghurka's body and to get the troops back to the palace. I stayed and until night fell, I stalked Shujinko. I waited, then I attacked. He was resting in a house. Apparently the house of the dead woman. I shot a sai in his head from the window and he fell flat on the ground. The woman screamed so I killed her too. I then ripped his heart and brought it to you in this brass case. If he holds the power of these men and women.... maybe you could gain his skills through sorcery using his heart ! Onaga gave him thiese powers, you could turn them against him....." Shao Kahn and Mileena then started to laugh like maniacs.

"As for your mission Mileena, I will ask you to contact Baraka and Ermac before the next full moon. Ask Baraka how his search is going and then follow Ermac. But beware! Don't get seen Mileena, I suspect he may seek freedom. If something happens, report back im-me-di-a-tly.... I will deal with him personally. I want news of Baraka's progress before tomorrow noon.

"As you wish Father" Mileena replied. She went to see the shadow priests who finished her healing session, and when her shoulder was totally healthy, she took her equipment and left.

*CuDrak: Some Tarkata officer. He was in charge of Mileena's troops with Ghurka.
