Mortal Kombat: Apocalypse

Chapter I
A New Threat

After The Dragon King's defeat it seemed as if mankind was finally forever safe. In fact it seemed almost certain. Lord Raiden had informed the heroes of mankind to return to the famlies that they have left to save the human race. The famlies welcomed them all back with open arms. Everything was going great for them and humanity was finally safe. There was finally world peace. It would be like this for many years, until the seven greatest of them recieved a telegram, the seven were: The resurected Liu Kang, The champion of the Elder gods Shujinko, Sub-Zero, Bo Rai Cho, Nightwolf, Kenshi, and Ashrah.

The message read:
Mortals, it is I, The Thunder god Raiden, this message has been sent to you and 6 of the other elite kombatants remaining. It is urgent that I meet with you all, for Earthrealm may once again be in grave danger, I have sent this to a limited number of you because you are truely the only ones that are left that can make a difference this time. Earthrealm needs you know more than ever. We will meet at the site of Shang Tsungs Mortal Kombat tournament, in exactly 6 days from today, I will be there all day, waiting for you. Please spend as much time with your famlies as you can until that time, you may never see them again.

They each traveled to Hong Kong and for each of them a boat awaited. After a long trip they had finally arrived at the island. A darkness of fog shrouded the island upon their arrival. When they arrived there Raiden was waiting for them. Raiden seemed rather cockey and obnoxious and alot less professional they he had been in their previous ventures.
"You mortals have done well, but all that you have done will not prepare you for what will happen next." Raiden explained.
"What can possibly be left for us to do, we have just overthrown the Dragon King, we must be at peace now." Shujinko added.
"(Small Laugh) You have no idea." Raiden said grimfully.
"Out with it already Raiden, if we are going to die today at least tell us why." Shujinko said demandidly.
"PATIENCE! You will know what I let you know. None of you are ready for whats ahead, not even you, Shujinko, or you Liu Kang, none of you are, what lies ahead, not even I can help you with. Go to sleep in the mourning you will find out." Raiden said willingly.
"This is some bullshit, you brought us out to some island in the middle of nowhere and you won't even tell us why." Sub-Zero jumped in.
Raiden did not like the tone or language Sub-Zero used with him and sent and electric bolt to the heart of the iceman. Sub-Zero went airbourne and had his back land on a giant rock which momentarily knocked him out. The kombatants immediatley attended to Sub-Zero to see if he was alright.
"Don't test me, im sick of babying you mortals. I won't have any of those slurs thrown at me after all I did for you mortals, without me you are nothing, listen to what I say and nothing bad happens, now go to sleep and do what you are told." Raiden angerily said.
The kombatants looked on shocked to see Raiden's new attitude. After that Raiden teleported to where he was out of sight. The kombatants got ready to sleep.



Chapter II
The Dark Truth

After the outburst that Raiden had displayed the kombatants set up tents to sleep in. They all gathered around a fire before finally going to sleep.
"That was fucked up. I don't care what you guys say, something isn't right with Raiden" Sub-Zero said.
"I agree especially with those dark new clothes and those red eyes, could it be?" Liu Kang said doubtfully.
"We shouldn't jump to conclusions. He must be under alot of pressure." Bo Rai Cho added.
"Jump to conclusions? He almost broke my fucking back." Sub-Zero said angerily.
"Raiden still looks out for us, do not worry, he just had a new attitude now, he is right in a way, without him the Dragon King would be ruling all realms." Nightwolf perspectivley said.
"I might not know him like you guys, but it seems like we're putting all our eggs into one basket with this guy, I don't like where this is going, he put us out here and we're camping in tents and gathered around a fire like we're a bunch of boy scouts, something obviously isn't right" Ashrah added.
"No, he is right, we must sleep now and find out in the mourning." Kenshi said.
Shujinko was standing by the water alone wondering what he could do to better the situation. Liu Kang walked over to him...
"You know we are your team now? Right?" Liu Kang asked,
"These guys will always need you more than me." Shujinko answered.
"Thats not true, none of these guys saw me defeat Shang Tsung, all of them witnessed you defeat the Dragon King." Liu Kang said.
"They need the both of us, the way Raiden is acting now proves that we all need each other in case of the unbelievable." Shujinko added.
The kombatants at the campfire looked at them interestingly.
"What do you think they're talking about?" Ashrah asked.
"Who cares? They're discussing what they need to discuss, I'm going to bed." Kenshi answered.
"Me too, I suggest you guys do the same." Sub-Zero added.
The kombatants all headed to bed, except for Shujinko and Liu Kang, they put out the fire and were about to go to sleep, until the darkness in the clouds turned to lightning and thunderbolts struck down at the tents.
"GET UP!" Liu Kang shouted.
The kombatants woke up and when they saw what was coming they rushed out of the tents and to safety.
"No, it can't be...." Shujinko doubtfully said.
Much to their surprise the Thunder god Raiden came soring down at them.
"But why?" Liu Kang asked.
"You were supposed to be sleeping, you were all supposed to be finished. It has all been a setup from the beginning, I am an Elder god, you will all fall at my hands, the realms will be dominated by the Elder gods, you cannot win. Ever since I first met you all I have been leading you into trap after trap after trap, but nothing but failure, until now, for I will take matters into my own hands and defeat you all myself. Shujinko, you defeated The Dragon King, but never an Elder god, Liu Kang you defeated Shang Tsung and Shao Kahn, but never an Elder god, all of you have defeated great warriors, emperors, sorcerors, and demons, but you will never defeat the ultimate supreme being, myself an Elder god, I am the leader of all the Elder gods, Edenia, Outworld, Netherealm, Orderealm, Chaos Realm, and finally Earthrealm will be conquered. YOUR SOULS WILL BELONG TO ME!" Raiden demanded.
Raiden teleported out before any of the kombatants could add something to his statement.
"It's over....." Liu Kang added.
"We are finished....I can't believe it" Sub-Zero said.
The once greatly confident team of heroes of now become a group of hopeless looking saps...it seemed like they had nothing left to live for......
