Even though I would love to have a big Staff, it's just not manditory. Therefor, the answer is no.

I just wanted to say Thank You to tgrant for all his help. I really do appreciate all that he has done. He was a great person and it is sad to see him go. Hopefully, he will come back in time when the tournament begins.

Mortal Kombat: KLash

The Mortal Kombat: KLash Tournament has finally arrived. This is the very first tournament therefore; the popularity of this tournament will be unknown. In many ways, this tournament will be similar to the popular Kreate-a-Karacter tournament but it will also have its differences. Unlike the K-a-K tourney, the KLash tournament will not have judges, but of course, it will have its contestants.

Every MK Online user is allowed to either be a contestant or a voter of the KLash tournament. In order to become one of the two, you must of course be registered. This will all be further explained in the rules. There are 4 Lord’s in this tournament who will be watching over the tournament. ~Crow~ will also be helping us out throughout the tournament.

The Rules

--Awards--

Dragon Points will be awarded to the finalists. Dragon Points will only be awarded to the final three contestants. The 1st Place Winner will be awarded the most Dragon Points and will become a Lord for the next Mortal Kombat: KLash Tournament. As for the 2nd & 3rd Place Winners they will gain dragon points. These Dragon Points will increase your status in Mortal Kombat Online. ~Crow~ will decide how many Dragon Points each contestant gains.

The KLash Tournament

Here are the overall basics of the tournament. Every Mortal Kombat Character (if chosen) will be involved in this tournament. If a character is not chosen by a user by the time the tournament begins, then the character will be completely eliminated and not introduced. The list of characters you will be able to choose from will be listed below.

Registering: As stated above, a user who wishes to participate in this tournament must either register to become a voter or a contestant. If you choose to become a voter, all you simply do is vote for the character you think is more creative, better, etc. A voter does not have to vote everyday a battle is taking place, but voting often would be great. If you choose to become a contestant, then reading all these rules may be helpful for you. A contestant can vote as well, but they will not be able to vote when their character is currently in the battle. In order to register, you must either PM me or post in the following thread. Please do be specific to whether you want to be a contestant or a voter. There are no open positions in becoming a lord.

The Tournament: The tournament itself is not very difficult to understand. A MKO user who has registered to become a contestant will have to claim a character as theirs by PM one of the lords. Characters you are able to choose from is under the ‘Mortal Kombat Souls’ list. Once, you have claimed your character, you will have until the day the tournament begins to write what is listed below ‘Claiming Characters.’ If you fail to write the character needs then your character will not be involved in the tournament. Once the tournament has begun, there will be a series of battles. A contestant’s chosen character will go up against another contestant’s chosen character. At this point, voters and contestants (keeping in mind that their character is not the one battling) will be able to vote until the deadline. Voting time will be 48 hours per battle. The winner of the battle will move on to the next round. The same routine will go on throughout the whole tournament until the contestant who wins is crowned champion. Keep in mind that a contestant is only allowed to choose from the ‘Mortal Kombat Souls’ List. You are not able to create you own character nor are you able to pick a Mortal Kombat character that is outside the ‘Mortal Kombat Souls’ List.

Claiming Characters:

To fully claim your character, you must submit a complete bio with all the information found in the "Bio Needs" section. Once you have reserved the character, you have until the day of the tournament to write his/her concept. Once again, if you fail to submit a concept, your character will be overall eliminated.

Each participant will choose from the ‘Mortal Kombat Souls’ List. Each player may select one character to write a bio for (unless noted otherwise).

Special Moves- (No limit here... just give your character ever how many specials you feel are necessary)

Fatalities- (1, 2, or even 3 are allowed. You can include a weapon fatality as well, but again it's optional)

(Hara Kiri maneuver - optional)

Storyline/Bio- (Include the character's backstory and such)

Once you have finished the concept, the concept must be submitted to me. Please refrain from posting the concept in the thread. I will provide the bio in the KLash Website and will also provide it when the character’s battle is posted. If a participant wishes to draw a picture of the character, they may.

Important!! I did not place the characters ‘ending’ in the Bio Needs section for a reason. If your character has lost in a battle, your responsibility as a contestant is to write an ending after the battle and send it to me. You have 24 hours to post the ending of your character. If failed to do so, the Story Editor, GreatQueenSindel, will write the ending for your character. When writing your ending, make sure your character has actually been defeated. Please do not in any way make your character return or resurrect. Your ending must make sense meaning your character lost the battle so the characters ending must face defeat. In other words, the character must die. After you have finished the ending, please send it to me and I will gladly post it in the thread. If your character’s ending simply has nothing to do with defeat, than I will ignore it and ask GQS to write the ending. Remember, the time to write your characters deadline is 24 hours.


Basic Rules

- A voter or contestant is only allowed to vote once per battle

- a contestant is not allowed to vote during his/her characters battle

- A contestant is only entitled to one character, not allowed to choose more than one.

- Please refrain from creating multiple accounts. You are more than likely to get caught.

- Do not in anyway attempt to update a battle or introduce a new battle. This will only cause confusion. If a user does do so, their votes will be ignored throughout the tournament.

- Please make sure you are registered before voting. Your votes will be ignored if not registered.

- If a tie has been taken into affect, the Lords will deliberate and decide which character earns the spot of becoming the champion of that battle.

- No flaming and such is allowed in this tournament. Please keep the profanity to a minimum since this tournament is being watched by mods.

- Please claim your character before actually writing their Bio simply because that character might already be taken. I will be updated ‘The Mortal Kombat Souls’ List though.

- Overall, have fun with the tournament. It is just a game so don’t take it tooo seriously.

- Resurrections in this tournament are unknown and will only be decided towards the end of the tournament


If there are any questions at all regarding what is listed above, then please do ask me or any of the ‘Lords’. In the end a contestant will be crowned champion.

Keep in mind that registration starts on April 18, 2005. The characters that you will be able to choose from will be listed below. Please do not register until April 18, 2005. As for now, I would greatly appreciate some feedback.

Interesting stuff, it seems very similar in fact, except for the fact that the characters are mk characters, a.k.a. from the souls list and judges..

hmm..i guess my post got defected or something...

Well, i thought i'd bring this back up.

After beginning on the concept, i realized that this could have some potential. I mean, instead of having our own characters in there, might as well have whatever there is, stay there and have our ideas in there. Obviously, credit should be given to the site/users..

I'm beginning on my concept, and it's turning out alright, not a bad start, I mean for a concept, cause i don't really make character concepts. It's quite nice actually, being able to participate compared to holding a major event on mko full-time, sorta. I can't wait to see how this turns out.

Well, after about 3 or four design changes, I've finally come up with a design for Smoke that I'm happy with. It's not what you'd expect for a character like him, but I like it, hopefully you guys will too.
