Well, I think this one if somewhat of an improvement over your first submission using this characater, MTF8T8. You didn't overuse any effects here really, and the fake itself isn't a bright and flashy as many of your otheres, which is a good thing of course. Anyway, you added in most of the basics, glad to see you finally are using lifebars again. Though, the text in them isn't very good, looks like standard Times New Roman or Courier. If you want MK3-like font, then you must capitalize ALL the letter, and also write the font in italics to achieve the desired look I believe. I do think the 'WINS' text would be good here, because as it is, the lifebars appear to be too high on the screen for MK3. Win tokens are there, and shadows.. are somewhat there. What I believe you did was try to make the entire shadow of the character fit on the fighting platform; this is not neccesary. Just skew them as normal, and only place what part of the shadow will fit, and once you get to the edge, just cut the shadow off. In your BG, they are suspended in the air, so there would be no reason for the shadow to be cast afterwards. If there is a wall/water/etc. then yes, the shadow needs to be continued. But with your background on this fake, there is no reason for it, so really only the shadows of the legs would fit. The shadow for the part of Kano in the air is nice though, the one for his legs look sort of odd, take my above advice in this situation as well.
As for the background, I actually like it. The props seem well put together and are placed quite nicely. I like your choice of 'bridges' here, it fits well with the cave-like structure. Unlike the rest of the backgrounds you have created, in my opinion this one is very MKish.
I don't like the way MTF8T8 looks this time, I did previously but in this particular fake he seems too 'splotchy'. Though, this may be the result of the jpeg file, but his back doesn't look so good to me. Also, the cables that hang from his head look like they have a few stray pixels that are out of place. His right foot is a different color than the rest of his body, so that really doesn't make much sense to me. As for his weapon, well it isn't bad I suppose. Its hard to tell if its 'attached' properly though. You should add some sort of cables, or connector to make it look attached to his arm. Or you could just bring in 'bar' itself closer to the arm and edit it a bit. Also, the saw looks far too transparent. I realize you were trying to possibly achieve a nice motion effect, but it didn't really turn out as such. It looks alot less solid in this state.
As someone else mentioned, I don't really understand how the top half of Kano's body was turned at the position. Also, in theory, the way you have the blade positioned would have cut Kano in half vertically, not horizontally. The facial expre-ssion for Kano is nice though, seems like a good choice in sprites there. Anyhow, if you wanted to be more realistic, that blade would have be turned 90 degrees more to perform the fatality. At this angle it could have sliced him oppositely of what this fatality shows.
The bloodwork really brings this down, because again you used that pink, which doesn't look like blood at all. The blood spewing up from the torso could be edited a bit I think, it looks just like the blood prop itself. The blood on his legs look to much like vines again, don't let the blood run in that long of streams. The blood on Kano's upper body looks transparent, blood is indeed a liquid but by no means is it that transparent. It also look very flat, sort of just 'painted' on. Same with the blood on the floor under Kano, it doesn't have alot of depth or form. The 'arm' isn't a bad touch, but the way you did the blood hurts it. Also, I think it would have been better to place a whole arm here, rather than just a piece of one.
Anyway, like I said, this is better than your last few submissions overall, because you didn't use many 'neon' like effects. Just work on the blood color, blood is one of the most important parts in a fake.
