hmm... i like this for some reason lol, the upper body looks pretty good, i like the face but it seems tilted a little too much, but it reminds me of reptile, the real problem with this is the legs, they are much to small for the upper body, but they are well drawn, dont get me wrong here but it doesnt look like he is wearing anything at all, some acnoligment of cloth would be good. cool pic.

I have to say this reminds me a bit more of Scorpion that it does Reptile. Mainly, the eyes are white, so one usually automatically assumes Scorpion on first glance. The top half on the body is pretty good, some interesting designs and details are there. I like the 'ropes' around the arms, it sort of reminded me of Scorpion as well at first. I'm not sure what that symbol is on the left side of his chest, but it just seems not to fit in with the rest of the design to me. Everything from the waist up looks to be in good proportion, other than his left arm. It sort of looks like one of his muscles is 'lumpy' a bit. Doesn't really seem like it is flexed very much to me.

As for the legs, I'm not so sure about them. They look a bit off to me, too thin. Moreso, the right leg; I know it is at an angle but even given that angle I wouldn't think the leg would appear to be that thin. But, this at least has some original touches to it unlike some 'ninja' drawings, it isn't bad.
Yeah, it sorta reminds me of Reptile and Scorpion at the same time, mainly because as Crow said, the eyes are white, and more for me, the mask as well.
In anything pretty much other than the games, reptile always had that mask with the mouthole in it, so he could spit his acid.
I personally, think you could do without the veins, it seems a bit much.
And yes, the legs are a bit thin for his upper body.
Nice job though, I look forward to the colour version smile.

Well, there are quite a few issues I have with this rendering.

To start it off, there is absolutely no area with at least a decent shading effort. The mask is goofy looking, and the veins are just...heh, terribly done. If this is supposed to be Reptile, where the heck are the scales, and his tail, or even the slighest hint of a reptile's appearance? The ropes around his forearms and hands are horribly drawn, and his arms are laughable. The legs are way too thin, and that pose is just too awkward for my tastes. Go to the library and check out a book on anatomy, Hyd. Then come back and make the drawing I was hoping to see--one that inspires me. =/

Well I made a colored version of this, and I submitted it to MK5.org but right now Acj is in Turkey so it will be awhile until it is on MK5.org so I just uploaded it. Here is the link of the colored version.

I agree with everything you said, but it's supposed to be ninja Reptile. He didn't have any scales or a tail while his mask was on (excluding MK4).

He had scales in MK4, but no tail. But in any case you are right, it is ninja Reptile so he's not supposed to have a tail or scales. In the MK storyline when he was a ninja is when he was in his most evolved form. The MKDA Reptile is in his devolved form.
