Noob-Smoke sprite edit

It's pretty kool.
I would add some more details like Shadows.
Also, the life bars are too low. I see why you did it though, so you can see noob's torso. What you might try is putting the fighters in front of the life bars instead of behind them.

I use photoshop, so what I do in that program to make shadows look realistic is the following.
Select your sprite
Make a new layer and fill in the selection with black. This layer should be under your normal colored sprite layer.
Move the black sprite to where you think the shadow should be depending on the light source.
Shrink the shadow Vertically. to do this I use the transform tool.
You can then edit it how ever you need to with the pencil tool. I use the pencil because it doesn't make a blurry outline. It just puts the pixels at 100% opacity. So the pencil is good for sprite editing.
If you do have some blurry edges, you can fix it by copying the sprite to a new page.
Then up at the top, under Image > Mode> Indexed color...
Don't flatten the layers.
This will make any transparent pixels 100% opaque. It's a little trick I figured out on my own.
Also, if you want to resize your sprite without making it blurry, Zoom in on it so it's the size you want it to be. Then do a print screen = the Key on the key board. Paste the screen capture in your paint program and just cut the sprite out.
That way it won't get blurry. And you can still do some more blending to it if you want.
A trick to cutting the sprite out easy is to put a bright background behind it, like bright red or pink, green.......A color that's not in your sprite.
Then just select the background color and delete it.

Although I HATE saying this, myself, if you'd like to make it match MKD more accurately, you might want to consider using an Unmasked Sub-Zero sprite from MK3 and paste a cyber ninja head on the head of that sprite. HOWEVER, seeing as how I HATE Smoke's alternate costume in MKD, I think you did the right thing here by using the masked human male ninja sprite from MK2. Besides, the MK2 ninja costumes are my favorite out of ALL the ninja costumes of the MK series. I think the Scorp/Sub/Reptile costume used for this one on Smoke goes a lot better with the cyber helmet than Sub-Zero's "suspenders" from MK3.
5/5 for going with your gut instinct and using the MK2 Scorp sprite instead of the MK3 unmasked Subbie sprite for Smoke on this one.
