The design itself is decent but the head shape looks a bit odd.

Thanks for the feedback. But how does the head shape looks odd? Like what's off if you don't mind me asking?

Iike the design. I think the thing that makes his head look weird is that the jawline is a little to concave and high, and that the right cheek is slightly protruding.
the neck seems a little slim. the thing I always remember is that the neck start from under the ear because there is a muscle that connects behind it. I hope this helps, keep it up.

Thanks for the advice. Its a bit tricky for me to draw perfectly well with pen. I don't know why I've been drawing in pen lately, but... yeah...

My brother insists I start working solely on the heads, for a new direction of art to take me into. I might start working on re-designing his face. I've always drawn him having a very pointy face as well as making it very boney. I could re-redesign him once more... But thanks for the constructive criticism!

The unholy blend of Tintin caricatures with cranial palsy, Victorian pseudogothic designs mixed into a lampshade that is worn as a collar I think...

This is so weird it is awesome.

But to be fair, the head looks like a caricature rather than a reproduction of Quan Chi. It seems that you lack consistency when it comes to actual, well, sometimes proportions, sometimes actual positions.

that design is so cool and its exactly like what quah chi would wear. but like everyone else said the head doesnt look right at all. like the chin iand lower half of its face is pushed too far forward . when i try and draw heads i look at pictures of skulls nd things to get the right shape. so maybe u can try that?

Very Ashelotte-ish.

I must say, while it is a nice costume, it looks quite feminine, and seems to insult Quan Chi's dark masculinity.

I'm starting to agree with NiteOwl, your designs do seem to reflect Soul Calibur. I know that wasn't your intentions, I'm just saying.

It's certainly not a bad thing. I absolutely LOVE Soul Calibur's costume designs.

Its good principle artwork, and designs,
but its a far cry from even vaguely being recognizable as something distinctly "Mortal Kombat".
I'm all for re-designing and re-imagining...
but ninjas are ninjas.
Stealthy, fast, and powerful.
To me, your Scorpion & Sub-Zero look like medieval knights.
Big, bulky, very weighty and again, powerful.
But ninjas by definition, can't be big, bulky, and such.
It defeats their purpose.
So if Scorpion & Sub-Zero aren't in fact ninjas, you've fundamentally changed their characters.
Possibly to an extent that they seem like original characters.
So their semblence to their respective point of inspiration: the real Scorpion & Sub-Zero, is in name only?
Its a bit of a stretch for me to see any "Mortal Kombat" in your upcoming comic.
BUT! 75% of this is extrapolation, speculation, etc etc.
Your comic could turn out amazing! I'm sincerely hoping it does.

Haha, well this is the kind of reaction I wanted and expected. I achieved my goal and is pleased.

You all really expected these guys to look like what they look like now. Haha, nuh-uh, no... I love adding new elements, creating new looks to characters that you'd least expect.

But, in case if you're wondering where I got the idea from, even though there's nothing on here that really says that it came from this... Warcraft.

I'm not copying their looks, though, majority of the stuff I see with their armor is something I would like to add with these characters.

Warlock tier 6 has skulls on the shoulder pads in a way that I personally LOVED. Quan Chi shoots skulls out with his special abilities. Put two and two together and you get something like that.

Warcraft, Gothic look, a bit of ninja/samurai/warrior/etc. looks... I'm basically adding a lot of my own individuality elements into these concepts while also trying to make it seem Mortal Kombat-ish. I could re-submit this, draw it in pencil and unleash more details that I can put in it.

But, all I can just say is that I'm glad you're all reacting in the way I wanted and expected. These are excellent feedback messages.

I didn't really say this picture alone was Gothic, just examples that I use to draw these pictures.

So...I'm still stuck on one thing.

Please help me with this, I don't want to misconceive your art anymore.

Was it your intentions to make Quan Chi appear feminine, or is that just my own perception?
