Grade school drawings. Ick. Poor quality, the outlines look the same on each one too. Traced perhaps? I don't care. The hands all look like gloves. The skull on the third one is terrible. And, the worst thing of all, this currently has a score of 4.5/5. This means someone believes this is on par with JAX007's stuff. Which is most definatly not. 2/5

These are actually pretty good, especially for a 13 year old. They're just concepts, of course they're going to have poor quality.3.5/5. You really shouldn't be so harsh on someone that draws better than you.

Look, when someone posts something to be critiqued/judged/looked at/etc., thats what I'm going to do. I don't care how old someone is, not that I look at anyone's ages anyway. I see no point in giving a better score to something that doesn't deserve it just because someone's younger.

Also I don't believe that 'concepts' deserve better scores just because they're labled 'concepts'. Guess what, they're still pencil drawings, just with the word 'concept' in the title.

And, uhh..while I'm reeling off stuff, I'd like to mention that most movie critics can't write or direct worth shit. So someone can point out the flaws of something without having to be able to actually make something flawless themselves.

Oh yeah, and I can probably draw better than this kid, in fact I'm sure I can. Not that I can really call him a kid, since I'm really not that much older than him anyway.

I think these are really well done, i can see scorpion in them. I'd like to see them in colour though. 4/5

and Darklord- in reply to your traced body comment, look at the concepts of Jade, Tanya, Mileena and Kira including many more in the Krypt on Deception, notice something? Yeah they've all got the same pose that was probably traced, fact is it's easier to use the same body as you see all of your concepts from the same angle and pose.

I wasn't commenting on the pose being used multiple times. I was commenting on the pose possibly being traced from something else and used 3 times. Not like the official ones, in whihc they drew a pose and used it multiple times. If you look at them, the additions to the body (eyes, armor, hand etc.) are pretty poorly done. The poses, however are excellent. So, this begs the question: Were they traced, or is the artist really sloppy at everything but body outlines?

I like them. Good job. 4/5 from me.

Also these are just concepts, whether or not he copied the poses from somewhere oh well, I cant draw so i would do the same. Also, Until i see something better come from your darklord, I say your just an angry little twit who is jealous of this drawing. Prove me wrong.

As a side note, just because this work has a 4.5 doesn't mean anyone is comparing it to JAX007's stuff. In fact, the way the rating system usually works on MKO is on an individual basis. For example, this piece is a 4.5 for crash-kid. My current Ermac fatality piece is also a 4.5... for me. People don't take all the art on this site into consideration when rating artwork... at least it seems that way.

Personally, I think it's silly to be overly negative when critiquing someone's work. MKO is supposed to be a pleasant diversion for MK enthusiasts, not a place where people with inferiority issues go to bitterly nit-pick the fun right out of MK fan art.

I have never seen you make any good comments, maybe you should try encouraging him a little and give him tips to make it better. I havent seen anything from you around here.

I like the drawings, takes quite a bit of creativity. And drawing can be learend by doing it, keep up the good work. maybe next time it would be cool to try something with a bit of shade inthere.

Thanks for the feed back, I'm still trying new things in Art and I should get better as I get older at drawing I get better every year or two.
And yeah I drew the outline of the character(scorpion) and drew different costumes(that's what I do), If you guys gave me some tips I'll be very appreciative.
I'll scan some sub-zero one I have done soon, it is not as messy.

Hey man, if i were you I would try to expiriment with some shading. You can take a look at yourself if you take on that pose and see how a shade is formed. If you have an eraser handy you can expiriment whatever you want.

Thanks I'll try shade my Sub-Zero pic, but I'll practice a bit first hopefully it will turn out all right.

i like the third one. th second one looks too subby-ish. 4/5 from me.

-Noone, other than the occasionally offhand comment about shading, else has given any constructive critism either. And a few posts are pretty much just bitching at me.

Oh and Crash-Kid, work on details. Since you drew shapes for each one, it doesn't really fit to have some poor detailing to throw off the look. Work on it!
