So you KNOW that something as simple as lifebars is wrong and you don't fix it? Some effort.
This is horrible. I'll tell you why, but I do want you to realize it - this is horrible.

I have no FUCKING clue what is going on. I'm now going to look deep into it to point out every flaw I can find to you, and I guess maybe I'll find out what's going on in the Fatality after I do so.

First off, everything is just placed wrong. Look how far from the left end of the screen is Scorpion's lifebar, and how far from the right end of the screen is Sub-Zero's / Johnny Cage's lifebar. Did you REALLY need me to tell you that this is wrong?
It's like, ''hey guys this is OFFICIAL. This get the official stamp''. What the hell are you talking about? If you made it and it's online... It's like.. I don't even know what you mean. It's official because you put effort into it? Well I personally don't see any effort, and even if there was effort, how does that make it official? What dictionary defines official as ''something that you actually work hard on''?
Why don't you go ahead and put a TM and Copyright symbol on the fake, to make it even MORE officialler? It's pointless, shit like that, and it just takes away from your credibility.
Sorry I just had to get that out of the way. Lets move on.

The size of everything seems wrong.
Didn't it cross your mind that it was weird how the sprites didn't take up much of the background? Did you remember MKII as a game with a huge background and tiny little sprites jumping around? Does this look even slightly real to you?

I don't get what Scorpion is doing. It looks like he has a rocket pack on his back put upside down, which launched him into the ground.

I can't even analyze Cage's wounds and blood properly because it's all so small. It does look like crap though. Too bright and single colored, I'm guessing.

I had no idea those bright, fake looking Japanese things or whatever they're supposed to be on the skeletons were actually supposed to be something the skeletons are wearing until I started looking deep into the fake. They look totally fake.
What the hell are the skeletons even doing? They're on their knees? Wearing their fake gear and holding Cage's legs while he starts bleeding from random places?
Here's what bothers me. I bet that just like you noticed the lifebars sucked and posted this anyway, you noticed how freaking unbelievably fake the skeletons' armor or whatever looked. And yet here you are, acting like nothing is wrong, and it all looks good and you have no clue that this sucks. I don't believe you. You liar.

Well that's it I guess. And I still have no idea what's going on. Believe it or not, the random transparent pic of Scorpion on the right didn't help me understand what you're trying to tell me. In case you don't get it, it's pointless and it sucks and it shouldn't happen again either.

I really can't get over the skeleton thing. Is it wings they're wearing?

Here's what I can try to assume happened in the fake (or at least, what you meant to happen). Scorpion won the fight, and his fatality consisted of him setting himself on fire, jumping up and down until the ground became all earthquakey. This obviously summoned fake stuff wearing skeletons from hell who grabbed on to Cage, and gave him some sort of apocalyptic, hell spawned virus that makes people blow up in random places of their bodies.


Look, this really sucks. Horribly. It's horrible. It doesn't take a veteran to tell how much it sucks, and this is why I'm pissed off. Did you really need me to type all that up? Wasn't it crystal clear to you from the start what was wrong with it?

i personally enjoy the harsh criticism sweeping this board, hopefully this will make for some better submissions. other than that, its true you cant tell whats going on here, other than by reading the description, which you shouldnt have to read a description to understand a fake otherwise, it is not well executed, please keep working at getting better but wait to you have something more substantial to post it. thanks

True,true.Not what I would say my best...I tried,I failed. First off, nowhere in my post do I remember saying that I was giving the defintion of the word official. I'm not trying to make a big deal about just mentioning a few things before the commenting starts off.It's not like I'm mailing it the president of any country and asking him to mail it to everyone in the world with me saying something like 'oh hey look at my work,praise it...this is it, it's official.And if it sucks it was my first one so I have an excuse' Secondly, I didn't say I was in a company to start stamping some logos on to pieces of work. And finally about that certain spot in your post,what does this have to do with the fake? Finally getting into the fake...I knew that.I had just noticed it right when I posted.And no I cannot find a way to fix it because if I try to take off the name or move the lifebar it will mess up the fake even more than you already said it was.I use GIMP Btw so I can't seem to find a solution yet. Once I move it there will be a spot of white space. I had to resize the image because it was too big. I couldn't find the right sprite size to make it look 'right' "Does this look even slightly real to you?"you said. Oh, I'm sorry that this does not look real.I mean people beating the living sh*t out of each other,throwing fireballs,and ripping their heads off with their bare hands is completely real isn't it? What I did for Scorpion was take 3 sprites and cut ot the arms from 2 of them.Then I rotated the arms and pasted it on his crouching sprite.And I had to fill in some empty space.So I guess I will try to make it not seem like an upside down jetpack. The blood wasn't single colored.I used the same color(s) from the blood sprites in any MK game which was 2. Ok,so the blood looks lke crap.I will work on that. The Japanese symbol on the skeletons cloth actually means something.I searched through and found it means death and I felt it would go with it.Look it up and you will see. When you say it looks totally fake what do you mean by that? I couldn't just copy and paste something and draw something else on it.I used a brush from GIMP to put on the 'fake skeleton gear'. Yes they are on their knees,I used an MK3 sprite.I rotated the other arm to make it seem like they are holding Johnny Cage. Still nagging about the lifebars.I tried telling everyone who was going to comment to overlook the lifebars.I'm sorry I couldn't fix them. I also didn't say this fake was any where near perfect.I'm not acting like nothing is wrong. Is everything supposed to look real in your eyes? Are you trying to be funny,insult me...what? Just listen, don't bother debating about it.

This was made in about 10 minutes. Mines on top, notice the difference in size.

Okay so I made an attempt at what it should look like. (I saved it wrong so the quality went down alittle, sorry.)

Notice the lifebars are in the right positions, with the names in the right way, and the timer place right on top and inbetween both lifebars.

You can also see that my sprites and bigger then yours and that the arenas are both different sizes, even though they are both the same arena.
Why did you resize your sprites when MKW has the sprites perfectly sized (I'm hoping you got your sprites from MKW).

I didn't even attempt to add the skeletons.

Theres no excuse for having a bad "First fake". There are tons of tutorials on how to do them. Sure its not gonna be a masterpiece your first try, but this is just a very bad fake.

It is not worth in acknowledging what UR says, that just makes him adding salt to your wounds that you're actually whining over something that shouldn't be bothering you. Ignore what he writes if you cannot stand him at all.

I understand that this is your first fake, but even first timers should know how to make something decent. I'm not trying to insult your work, this is something I don't touch becuase I don't have an art program to even try to make shadows or make fire graphics look real. But it should have been a lot better and cleaner.

But there are a lot of things to say about your work, but sadly those things have been said. But I wish in the future, that if you're going to make something, please know that if you made mistakes, then go back and fix them before posting your work on this site. It's not worth it by telling us that you know your mistakes, that's taking the fun out of critising one's work when you know the mistakes. What's worth posting it then? That's all I have to say, seeing how Zentile pretty much rapped things up... somewhat in a harsh way but yet that's how he judge works.

Scorpion is going against Cage right ? So why is the lifebar it says Scorpion and Sub-Zero ? For the most part the fake is horrible , but I know you will improve though , many people like me sucked bad at first trys as well .

Zentile, it is 3 50 in the morning and your first harsh criticism post made me laugh out loud literally and I am thankful for the good laugh. I hear it's good for the abs and soul.

Your_Name. At first all I was going to say is that I can't really tell what is going on. The lifebars didn't really piss me off. Half of the image wasn't displaying, so I was completely unaware of a random Scorpion to the right. What is with the random Scorpion to the right? I really now can not get over the fact that Scorpion just does look like his jet pack malfunctioned and he is stuck in the floor because of it. I like how you made Johnny Cage even if the blood is a little meh. I really wasn't aware of the skeletons until I read and was like oh. I can't see any Japanese or anything, it's just too small. Haha, Japanese... small (reminds me of a South Park episode). I can't stop laughing or thinking about the fact that your sprites are too small. Now for the first one, I just think it kind of looks like Scorpion has female genitalia so he "pops a squat" and like randomly four streams of piss shot out. Actually, maybe he just got lucky and his man organs were clogged a little and he randomly popped a squat and bamn four streams. Haha. Oh well... this has been a funny thread (before I posted).
