This is amazing Jerrod!!

Firstly, aweseome job as usual for giving such a detailed story. As you know Sareena is one of my favourites, and I ahve a lot of ideas about her, and what they can do with her. And you ahve shown me yet another path Sareena can go down.

I love the backstory you have given her in how her parents were associated with Shinnok and Quan Chi years ago. Also giving her a rough age lets people know how long she has been around etc.

Although not cannon, you have incorporated pretty much all of the cannon parts to Sareena's story and expanded on them well.

Your description of her demon form is great, its somewhat similar-ish to what I had in my mind but yours is probably better. I love the idea of her having tusks. Also adore how you have made her so deliciously evil. I love that Sareena is (was) so evil and fuckin loved it haha. Her love for all the torturing, laughing at the halved Sub Zero, and the put downs and things about lesser demons and mortals being so ridiculous is exellent.

Interesting too that you chose to develop the fan-made Frost rivalry too. Im not the biggest Frost fan so I tend to have Sareena not be involved with such trash tongue but each to their own. Also interesting outcome that she became a shadow demon. I didnt see that coming all. I tend to have Sareena going toward being a 'good' character..........but with a deep down secret Sinister personality and her having to battle with it. (Maybe Im just a stickler for bad girls turned good lol Kitana, Sareena and Sindel are all my top 3 characters, and all started evil but turned out good).

I am assuming since I havent read all your pieces, that in you storyline, The Original Subby doesnt become Noob. I was a bit confused at first. This again is a new dimension to Sareena as most often have her in somewhat of a triangle (usually a lvoe traingle) with the two brothers.

I love all the details you add to things. Like all the references here to the different areas of the Netherrealm we have seen through various games and, I suppose, customs within the Netherrealm. Also for things like the Shinnok-Lucifer war and references to Reiko and his absence for all taht time and stuff. You clearly pay attention to the finer details of things.

Also, you are one sick-minded guy (in a nice way) - that part of the story with the tortured Sub Zero regaining his whole body was abso-fucking-lutely brilliant!!

Major props with you for this work.

First off, thank you for commenting on my work man, it's most appreciated to see someone respect the written art as much as the drawings and photos.

Yeah, the rivalry's actually almost irrelevant in my grand scheme for them, which is why it's only hinted at in both their biographies (Sareena's follows Shadow Watcher Noob Saibot and leads to Black Frost, if you're interested in seeing the directions I've taken for all three).

I definitely see Sareena as having the potential to be a good guy, but the problem is as far as I'm concerned, she hasn't proven herself as a good guy. Sure, she saved Sub-Zero from Quan Chi, but that was so she could escape the Netherrealm with him; that's the action of an opportunist, not necessarily someone who's good. By joining the New Brotherhood, she believes she will be doing good, but only because she doesn't understand that being "good" isn't as simple as helping people. It's not so much as a struggle as she doesn't know what "good" people do, and after being "bad" for so long, she wants to do something else. It doesn't make her good either, but it's a step up from hurting people for her own amusement and because someone else told her to and she didn't question why.

And you're right! I came up with the ideas for all these biographies well before Deception came out, and to make it more interesting, I decided to not alter my original plots to match the current story. As a result, a lot of the MK bios I've written veer far away from the current canon. Since it was only revealed in Deception that Sub-Zero became Noob Saibot, I kept them as completely separate.

Thanks for noticing! It's my main reason for taking so long with these stories.

Thanks! Needless to say, that was the toughest part to write. Since I already delved into the different tortures characters like Shinnok and Sheeva had to endure, I knew I had to make Sub-Zero's one of the most horrific. When he died, he was sent back to the place where he defeated and humiliated the rulers, so it made sense to me that they'd make Sub-Zero suffer for what he did in the worst ways.
Thanks again for the input. smile
