Wow... and not in a good way :(

I honestly don't have a positive comment on this aside from the fact you kept the the health meters and the timer at the regular brightness during a fatality.

This next part may be a bit tough to take but it's all really only in an attempt to open you up to a few things that were over looked.

The background doesn't mesh. The colors are blended well enough, but you have two different perspectives going on in the floor, which will throw anyone's eye off. It also doesn't look so much like flooring as it does a wall behind the characters, the perspective lines affect this a lot.

The character edits are in need of a lot of depth. Sonya's face looks like a skull, and her hair is void of highlights, along with the rest of the sprite that you edited. There really needs to be a lot more shading and lighting added to give them a 3d look instead of the flat look that's going on. Use references, they'll help a lot for understanding both aspects. You also missed part of the blue of SZ's shoulder piece, so it doesn't fit in with the idea or costume of Smoke. There are also a a few bits of red that might be blood but look more like jacked up pixels around the smoke on the same shoulder.

The way you've laid down the brushes, also shows that it was simply brushes, and not technique/skill that produced the effect of flames.

The last thing, make sure you line up the names in the life bars, it's a simple visual that if you eff it up, it detracts from the whole image.

I applaud you for trying some edits instead of just brushing effects over an overly brightened background, but this leaves a lot to be desired.
