For those wanting to make sprites this tutorial is here to help you. You need Photoshop and a basic understanding of photoshop and a base sprite with an idea you want to change it to. Here I have changed Sonya from MK3 into Sonya from MKDA. It's far from perfect, but I just want to help.
Its 300x2000 and is 316KB. It's in png format.

Yeah, maybe you should start to use it.

Thanks guys. I'm thinking of making more sprite tutorials. I have to admit this was alot of fun. But I have alot of projects to get through before I make another sprite tut. Thanks again!

Bumping this for my curiosity:
I am having trouble understanding step 2 involving the nudge tool. I don't understand the 1 pixel brush used to nudge her skin. Which tool is that exactly?
I need this to make a guy's sprite he requested a few months back (about 10 months).

Seeing that sprite edit of MKDA Sonya made my mouth water on how good that looks. It looks damn near legit.
I understand this is old...but..
The sprite edit is fairly solid but it does have some shading and style issues (contrasting realistic look / cartoony vibe in my opinion. Not doubting Keith's artistic abilities, but it could be improved in certain areas. Just sayin'.
What does impress me is how he made a sprite editing tutorial that is actually quite enlightening. Hell, I wish I would have had this tutorial maybe even 10 years ago. Would have saved me quite a bit of time learning it all the hard way.
This all being said--I'd like to see what Keith could do now.
Ugh, I miss the old days. =\

Not only was this guy an outstanding sprite editor and artist, he was also very talented in animation and produced some of the finest ones seen on this forum.

Can someone help me? It says pick the nudge tool, use a 1 pixel brush and nudge her skin. I know nudging means using the arrow keys to move layers in a direction but whats a nudge tool?

It depends on which program you're using. Are you using Photoshop, Paintshop, or a different program? Once I know I'll show you what you're looking for.

I Googled this for you. It was in the second search result. Imagine all the other results you could have come across in the time it took for some one to help in this thread.

Because asking a spriting expert about spriting help/tips in a spriting topic would be too unreasonable. Tips/help is one thing, it's not like he's asking for them to do all his work.
Why even have a kommunity? Just Google everything dammit!

I wish you'd think before typing sometimes.
He asked this the first time on 11/24/2012.
Months later NO RESPONSE.
Then again on 01/17/2013.
Another month later NO RESPONSE.
Because after weeks and weeks of no responses, expecting some one to use a search engine as efficient as Google would be too unreasonable.
You don't have to be a sprite expert to know how to use a nudge tool, as I already proved. You only have to know wtf the nudge tool is and there are plenty of photoshop people out there who can help, it doesn't have to be a sprite editor.
Did he even bother to PM someone after no one helping him here? I'd have to assume no since he asked TWICE and still had to ask a third time for help. MKRocket has been around this forum since he offered help in this thead; had Chimera actually PMed the one person who replied, we wouldn't be having this disussion.

Cocky mocho men? Strangely intrigued? Pomposity? Next time just say "I'm turned on by bad boys like you" instead of using Microsoft Office's thesaurus

Some people think a forum of colleagues is just a little more interactive/quicker than opening a seperate window/tab n getting sidetracked sifting through pages of stranger's bs/pop up ads.
If you're in a crowd, why ask the person next to you, when you can simply go to a different room to get a dictionary/encyclopedia off the bookshelf?
Why should I read through an entire encyclopedia artice, just to find out that ducks swim in water?
That's the thing about online forums. Everyone's willing to reply to silly bs, n kiss each other's ass, than to answer the simplest of questions.

Don't get me wrong; I understand your point. I really do and I agree. I go to forums most of the time if I run into a programming problem.
But if I don't get a response after many weeks I at least go to google. It's a shame no one has yet to answer him. I don't use Photoshop (and never will) so... I'll just step out of this one.

I did google this. But what I can't figure out is using a 1 px brush to nudge skin. I know nudging 1 pixel basically means zooming in at 100% and using the arrow keys. I have done this before.
But a brush to nudge something has me confused. Google didn't give me anything useful.
Do I select her midriff, create a duplicate and move it over? Or did the tutorial involve stretching the skin over the pants. That's what I wanna know
