Let me just start off by saying, this story won't be COMPLETELY accurate to the MK storyline; I wrote this at the beginning of the school year last year because we had to write a fictional short story, and I didn't feel like my teacher cared if it was really true to the MK storyline; as a matter of fact, I didn't mention the words "Mortal Kombat" at all in my story. But I thought it was an okay story, so I took it home and felt like you guys on MKO might get some enjoyment out of it.

So here goes nothing:

The Ninja War

About 1000 years ago, there were two ninja clans engaged in a war. The clan called the Lin Kuei was made up of mostly of ninja assassins, and a grandmaster. A grandmaster is the head of a clan. The other clan, Shirai Ryu, is basically the same, only their assassins are specters. Since they are specters, they can’t be harmed by any man-made weapon. However, they are quite vulnerable to ice. It freezes them, along with their soul. The Lin Kuei’s greatest assassin, Sub-Zero, has mastered the element of cold, and has been training all the other assassins to do the same: to fight with weapons made out of ice. A Lin Kuei assassin’s load out consisted of the following: a katana, 5 stars, and a pair of small daggers. Similarly, a Shirai Ryu assassin’s load out is the same, except their weapons aren’t made out of ice.

Sub-Zero had a counter-part. The Shirai Ryu clan’s greatest warrior, Scorpion, possessed skill that rivaled that of Sub-Zero, except he couldn’t use the element of ice, obviously.

Both clans were training and planning for the surprise attack on the other clan’s base, which were only separated by a vast open field. Just by chance, they had planned it on the exact same night. So that night came, and they met each other in battle on that field, and both sides lost many, and Scorpion and Sub-Zero became engaged in a fight. Scorpion threw 3 stars, but Sub-Zero blocked them all with his Ice Katana. Scorpion threw 2 more, and Sub-Zero blocked them, too. Then, they engaged in a sword fight. They swung and slashed and parried, until finally, Scorpion shattered Sub-Zero’s Ice Katana with a powerful slash, then he stabbed him in the leg. Consequently, Sub-Zero fell to the ground. Scorpion was about to deal a finishing slash to slice off Sub-Zero’s head, when Sub-Zero took out both of his Ice Daggers and stabbed Scorpion in the stomach in one fluid motion. Scorpion froze instantly. All of a sudden, Sub-Zero heard a disembodied voice say ominously, “Finish Him!” So Sub-Zero stood up, took all five of his Ice Stars and threw them at Scorpion and shattered him into a thousand pieces.

Without their greatest specter warrior to lead them in battle, the Shirai Ryu were weak, and the Lin Kuei defeated the ones that were still standing. The Lin Kuei could finally live in peace forever.
