I haven't done shit to anyone yet my ratings drop like a motherfucker. Don't worry, man. I think we both have gotten high praise for our art. People seem to think of us as professional even. If some fucking jackoff wants to lower our score so be it. It wont deny the fact that were making that person jealous with out kickass art, especially you, I really liked your new Goro. So who cares, right? I mean yeah it gets annoying but people really seem to like the stuff we put out.

personally, i say fuckem if they dont like me. it's just a matter of maturity really. i think people should have the guts to come out and tell you if they dont like you, not this little weasle shit they do. it's just odd when everyone tells you your stuff is great, and then the ranking drops. either they dont like you, or they dont like the work and and just wont tell you what they dont like about it. and that's not very helpful if you're trying to get better at it.

Hmm, my ratings dropped a little too and I haven't even posted any knew art. But they may be just because I brought my old Motaro back up. Even so, I don't think it would go down that much with Motaro's ratings. The ratings on my old stuff have usually been fairly steady (meaning low :P)

Are you serious? I myself just have a hard time believing users here would actually give you low scores on your art because of your views or thoughts in other forums. Personally, I see that very disgraceful. I have seen your thoughts in the general discussion forum, but whether or not people agree with them or not, it should not influence their opinions on your art. When I vote on submissions, or give them a critique for that matter, its all about the submission, not the person. Whether or not I agree or disagree with anyone on any of the forums, you'll always get a fair and honest opinion from me; and it would be silly for anyone to act otherwise.

hell i have had people tell me my fakes are absolutely horrible, but they make me work harder. if people acctually do this on this board or any others, that just means they have no opinion and cannot handle a simple fact in life, no matter how good you are, there is always someone better.

Biggest thing goes to MaxDam, people have acctualy stolen his fakes and had enough balls to post them here as their own.

Dude just go with what the others do here. try not to make any enemies and be good on the board. if you get marked down for this then pm a Portal_Guard ~ Potent_Seed is great, Sub_Cero just as good, ThePurpleBunny gets the job done, etc. and if nessicary (sp?) go higher maybe to Joinin01 or even ScottHowell. give it about another month then do some thing.

P.S. mark what every thing you for the next month to show proof. that helps.

that's exactly what im saying it should be. but i've decided i don't really care about the rankings anymore. the only thing they do is show people which pictures are the more popular ones when going through the art section. the only things that can be of any use, really, are the critiques given by others in the forums when i post something. those are the only things that will tell somebody WHAT is wrong with their work and HOW to fix get better at it.

i talked with crow about this today, and some other people, i think a ranking shoudl require a coment that way people cant hide behnd what they put up, tis wouldnt work on the link ones but thats ok, i recently had one drop tremendosly in one vote,...it would have had to be given close to a zero, but im gonna try not to worry about it any more, its not really all that important, im am here on more of an advice going experience than anything.

The sad thing is, there's not a great lot the staff can do about the rankings of Artwork.

Though CC Shadow could likely see who rated certain Artworks what, as you need to be logged in to rate Art and the database likely keeps track of this as you cannot rate Art a second time.

There are sad individuals out there that will rate your Art poorly *just* because of who you are on the forums and immense jealousy for a person's talent in their work.

Khardynal is a prime example of a user who will rate a person's work a zero and then not even have the guts to submit his own work to the MK5.org system to allow it to be rated, but rather just link it on the forum.

This is a large reason why I do not rate non-submitted Artwork anymore.

Not because some of it isn't good, but to promote people submitting work and actually being a part of our FanArt community instead of fearing ratings.

If a person is jealous of another persons ability here, to rate them poorly for it is a pitiful attempt to "get at them" for their being less skilled and talented and it's truly a sad display of immaturity.

Please know that the only way a persons work drops severe in rating is if someone is rating it the poorest possible rating and possibly under different alias' on here.

I'll see if we can make a system where it displays who rated what in the future to prevent this crap from happening again. Users abusing the system could be banned from using the system or some other punishment hopefully.

I can't promise anything, but I'll consult Acj and other staff about this.

Holy crap, I just typed a long excellent reply and the system denied it and I lost it.

Oh well, suffice to say, use the forums at your own risk. The internet is the biggest hole for revenge freaks and the MK5.org fan art section is not immune.

Second, votes are based off of user names. Implementing a system to add a list of usernames with votes shouldn't be too much work. Select username, vote from votestable where picture = "whatever", order by username. Just make it small to not hog alot of space.

Admins think hard though, I've implemented systems like this on other forums (not art related) and it created so much conflict people left and the group shut down from inactivity.

It would be interesting to see the votes people gave so far when they thought no one was watching. It would take weeks for all the messages clear out.

I for one stand behind every vote I've given.

i like to think people cuss my work because they hate me- but it`s probably more to do with the fact i can`t draw properly.
