I'm planning on making a fighting flash game , the first beta now I am starting out is starting out with 4 chracters which are , Sub-Zero , Scorpion , Jin , and Heihachi . The game title is called Namco VS Midway Flash . I'm still looking for tips on some things I need for this project like looking for tutorial . I'm also trying to see if tag mode will be possible when I make it , so it will be like Tekken Tag Tournament , sprites for Tekken will come from Tekken Advance ( Maybe , unless if I find a cheat in mame to disable bkg , then maybe I can use Arcade sprites , mainly tekken 3 ) and MK will be publics decision . The background I need to know more , Is it possible to make the background 3d ?

The Flash engine I'm using is Macromedia Flash MX Professional 2004

So what are my problems for now ? I will detail them below , and hopefully someone can tell me the answers

1 . How to convert all the sprites to one character and make it where you press the key to perform the attack

2 . How to make a action to go to which keypoint , EX , when p2 press start ( 2 ) during a match of p1 vs cpu , it can go to keypoint character select , or pressing start ( 1 or 2 ) and it will advance to the character select screen .

3 . How to make the background change after next stage randomly .

4 . Being able to face a CPU .

5 . More actions for stuff like energy bars .

Q&A I think you might say , you can ask me some questions also in this forum and I'll answer it here .

Q . Why can't Kazuya be in instead of Jin ? He is more of a main character then Jin .
A . Because he wasn't in Tekken advance , he is my favorite character also , I would of add him , but he's not in Tekken advance , however if you can , or if you know someone who can , try to edit the sprites of Jin and turn him to Kazuya and send it to me and then in the next version , I will put him in the game .


Credits for now go to my brother John as he is going to help me , and UltimateRyu about Particle Illusion information .

I will post some screenshots of the menu soon .
Edit May 26 2006 : The game default frames per second will run in 60 FPS
Edit May 30 2006 : I am hiring people who are good with flash action script and some basics , whoever is good with that can join and be apart of the Tekken VS Mortal Kombat Flash .
Edit May 31 2006 : I am thinking if I find a bkg disabler cheat for Tekken games in mame32 , I can use them instead of Tekken Advance sprites , what do yall think ?

Edited : I got it fixed now :D I am kind of getting problem #2 now , but now I also have another problem , when I import a sound , the sound has a very low quality sound , but when I play it in library , it sounds fine , but when testing the movie , it don't sound great . I will add this for #6 . For now I got some screenshots .

S : The character screen bottom was suppose to animate with PI , but not added now until I get PI working good . Rank the looks please , the character screen picture like Sub-zero I think yall might say needs some changing , cause Sub doesn't look all that great .

you could use namco x capcom sprites, they have more variety, like devil kazuya or p. jack...even mitsurugi an taki...for the mk ones, use umk3 no doubt...other charecters i reccomend are reptile and paul phoenix...paul if you dont us namco x capcom sprites, that is. i dont think hes in that...

The sprites aren't that good looking to me , I found a site with like a bunch of uploads of sprite sections , and is like little pallete less , like cartoon pallete . Tekken advance use more palletes and has a better designing of the person .

I probably going to have to say it again , the bottom part with all that space IS suppose to animate , like stars flying back , Particle Illusion is there for that part , but I need register it , so its not how it will look like . Also when I have the character select bar scripts how to do that working , I am adding a high definition 2d person that animates well ( meaning running on like around 256 colors rather then 66 on average MK character ) like KI 2 .
The high color table could hurt your loading times.

You HAVE to put in Pac-Man.And since this is Namco VS MIDWAY not
Namco VS Mortal Kombat their should be OTHER Midway characters
like those guys from Narc or the monsters from Rampage.

Ok I am at this part and need help on this please . How can I make it where when I press 1 ( a key ) , it will go to the following frame key , or press 1 to gotoandstop ? BTW , the KK in Tekken in menu screen may look like 2 H's , but its really K , in Namco's font , thats how it is .

People posting about adding new characters , wait until I am done with the first beta , so I can get the fighting engine working , and the character select . I probably need a intro also when I am done knowing how to do the key command action script ( which is press [ 1 ] P1 start , or [ 2 ] P2 start and then it will go to the following key frame . )

Alright , I got the animation of the character select background working now :D , until I look up or someone tells me how to do the key commands , I will so a preview flash of the menu and character select . No intro included , I have to think/make up one , or have someone else to do so to be credited .

Alright ! Good news , I found out how to do the key command to play , now one more thing and I will release a html flash preview of the menu and character select flash . The character select bar can't move , so don't think that you can move around in the character select , I need to know that part after this one problem I have . The problem now is to avoid the key command to play after frame 1 , I have this key command play in frame 1 , and I want frames 2 and up to avoid it .

Here is how the Menu and character select will look like for now ( Menu screen should have a video soon ) ! F3 is to reset , and 1 is start .

The game is at the VERY BEGINNING , so there is only the menu and the character select , and you can't move around in the character select , I don't know that stuff yet , I got the bar , and it must be moving around in arrow keys . I am still wanting to hire and credit people who knows flash , if you know how , especially on the action scripts , I want to have someone to be apart and help this game , so it can be done alot quicker then how it is right now .

AceKombat, sorry for this but please try not to bump your thread a lot unless you have a good amount of information/update towards your project or responding to another person's post.

Your project is very promising and i can tell it takes a lot of commitment. Dont stop and hope to see it 100% finish.
