UNWRITTEN KOMBAT: A Fan Fiction MK Creative Writing Contest

We all have had our own desired outcomes of various plot twists after playing the stories in our beloved series, Mortal Kombat. During the MKA days I had eight Kreate-A-Fighter characters saved and made bios and ending stories for all of them..a female-version of Kung Lao, a new apprentice to Raiden, a new ruler of Edenia, etc.

Now, here is your chance to be heard!

Change history..Form alternate alliances..Introduce new characters..the sky's the limit on your creativity. However, there is a limit on the story submission, a 1,000-word limit!

The deadline to submit your "Mortal Kombat" storyline is April 19th, 2014

All submissions MUST be submitted via email (IsoldeStorm84@gmail.com) or forum private message to my co-founder and leader, RL Hanzo or myself (RL Stormy) to preserve the originality of all submissions.

After the deadline for submissions, a public poll will be posted and the community will vote on their favorite story! Contestants will also be given aliases to encourage fair voting. Voting will end April 26, 2014

TOP PRIZE: $20 (PSN Card or MS Points equivalent)
In the event of a tie, Hanzo or myself will issue the tie-breaking vote.

It would be nice to see what RazorsEdge comes up with. I myself am not gonna enter because I can't be bothered. Did I hear u say, U know all Kreate-A-Kharacters winners?? I'm trying to get all 7 KAK winners and then maybe make them DLC for upcoming game. I only managed to get 3 of the winners lol.

I do kinda like the sound of this better than the Kreate-A-Kharacter tournament, because with KAK you can only enter one character at a time, so like...if their story is all about a worst enemy or best friend who's also a new character you created, too bad, you have to come up with a different story.

Like...imagine if you invented Scorpion, but weren't allowed to invent Sub-Zero or Quan Chi to go with him? Dude has no story now. What good is that?
That said...I don't know if I'll have time to come up with an entry since my own plans for a story set after MKA are WAY not ready for primetime. Like, I don't even have names for most of my new characters, I'm really bad at coming up with names and shit like that.

Well the deadline is still a month away and there is no limit on how short it is, I just didnt want them to be too long because I feel people may not read the submissions throughly and just rush voting lol

I noticed that this website seems to have members more dedicated to the MK series from a "fan" perspective so I posted it here early..Im not even making the thread on other sites until April so you guys have a two week head-start for any and all who wish to participate ! Also the stories dont have to be new characters they can be an alternate change of events for MK characters that already exist :)

Also just to be clear, one possible contestant asked a question on what is acceptable given the 1000 word limit and the submissions can simply be your own take of MK9 (or any MK game) ending. For example, if there was a character that was scarcely mentioned in a certain game, there is plenty of room to expand on their storyline :)

I would also love to read Zmoke's story. Both he and RazorsEdge would definitely be interesting to read to say the least.

@Kung Pao, that has to be one of the most retarded thing with regards to MK.

This is our April event planned, and there will be one new exciting event each month until June..leading up to the speculated announcement of MK10!
