Surface noise from a microphone echoes the airwaves before a small, ambience of classical music emerges foward. A voice crackles and pops through.
"Hello this is James Davis for the Friday,July twenty-fouth two-thousand and twelve edition of White Noise Radio. My first guest tonight is alternative history expert and author of his latest book "The Realm of Time Forgotten" Lucas Albright. Tonight we will be discussing mister Albrights theories of another dimension and proof that it has tried to break through into our own plane of time and space. Mister Albright I would like to welcome you to the podcast and for taking a small amount out of your busy schedule to join me and all the listeners around the world.
"It's my pleasure James. I've been a fan of the show for a very long time now and i'm honored to discuss my theories with you tonight."'
"for our listeners that are unfamiliar with your work or your new book gives us a brief description of what you believe is going on in the world today and what the future implies by these events."
"Well James i've studied history now for almost twenty-five years, namely history that the orthodoxy if you will likes to hide under the rug,out of view from the public and to most those in main stream archeology and history. What i've been uncovering for at least the last fifteen years is a re-occuring theme that we can vaguely see from rather recent findings from all over the globe. From Eygpt,Greece,China, ancient America, and all the way to India and everywhere inbetween."
"And what are these findings?"
" Well to start, going all the way back to the first uncovering in Athens Greece in nineteen-twelve. A statue was found washed up from the Aegean Sea that depicts fragmented remains of a warrior by the name of "Laodamas, ??? ???????? ????????" or slayer of the underworlds demons,???????????? ??? ??? ??????, defender of earthrealm." What's interesting about this is all that remains now is the archeologist who was called in to examine the statue's translation of the text with a brief description of the statue."
"And why is this important Luke? It seems to me though this would be an interesting find it just seems to me it relates to the mythology of the time."
"Well James here's where it starts to get interesting. Nearly ten years later around nineteen-twenty-two another discovery was made in China. A tablet dating to almost two-thousand years ago according to studies at the time depicts a fragmented remain of what seems to be a biography of some mythological figure known as "a161;a182;a207;a163;a183;a242;a204;a216;" or "The Shifter" who came forth from between the woods in the form of some foreign warrior who proclaimed himself to be Laodamas, who then appeared minutes later as some sorcerer who encoded an allegorical teaching of some sort to a few initiates and then vanished. The end of the tablet tells of a revolt in the ancient town of Pingle after the return of the sorcerer and list nearly two hundred fatalities as a result. Of course none of this is brought into the light of modern history and the story along with the tablet has faded into obscurity."
"It seems as if such a story with connections to the finding in Greece would be a monumental finding wouldn't you think?Pretty shocking stuff."
"Well yes,of course. Modern history plays off the Greek statue as a hoax and few in the field even speak of the Chinese tablet today. When it is brought up,it is claimed some unvarified carbon dating puts the tablet as being created no more than fifty years ago. Of course these alleged findings have never been brought foward though and I have tried my damndest to get ahold of them. Even if the tablet where proven to be no more than half a century old it still may be relating to an oral tradition that dates back to the time. What's more, get this James, is a few pages of notes left by a scholar by the name of Aaron Gramkey who makes mention of a trip he made with an archeologist friend of his to an excavated tomb in Eygpt that depicted a series of pharoph like sarcophagus' forming a circle with some amulet in the center sitting upon a pedastle that measure approximently four and a half feet high. What is astounding is in a a page and a half Gramkey makes mention of his astonishment of the amount of diffusion he saw in that small tomb. The first tomb he mentions is very much what you would expect to see from and Eygptian sarcophagus. yet five more are very characteristic of other traditions. He mentions one that depects an Native American clutching a tomahawk. Another he describes as a man that seems to be adorned in traditional oriental apperal, yet seems distinctly of European descent in his face, which is half covered in what appeared to be a bamboo hat. The most interesting is that of what seems to be from India,a possible depiction of the Hindu deity Shiva. A female with three arms extended outward with what appears to be a fourth arm that must of somehow broken.
"And what of the amulet?"
"Gramkey never gives a description for the amulet but the imagination runs wild with the possibilties."
"What about these notes of Gramkey, where did they come from and why aren't they being further invistigated?"
"The problem lies in the fact that these notes where brought fourth from a writer by the name of Anthony Charles, who at the turn of the century planned on writing a book about the very subject "The Realm of Time Forgotten" touches upon. Sadly Charles died in two-thousand and two and the work went unpublished, though much of it can be found if you know where to look. The notes allegedly left by Gramkey are futher questioned because in the three volumes he wrote on Eygptian mythology not once is the excavated tomb ever mentioned.
"It seems to be that would prove it to be a hoax."
"On the surface yes but once you get further down into the heart of it you discover a lot strange things. Anthony Charles' cause of death was never resolved. The initial report listed it as a homocide but then was quickly changed to a suicide with no reason given. I find the coroners report very suspicious to say the least. Futher more for what reason would Charles even have to falsify these notes? Upon mounds of investigation I have found no reason whatsoever for him to do such a thing. As for Gramkeys volumes on Eygptian mythology I strongly, strongly, believe these notes where purposely omitted from his books by his peers because it certainly doesn't fit what seems to be the general accepted theories about what was going on at the time. Five years after the initial release he attempted to re-release it with new material but he went missing somewhere near Cairo and the whole thing was dropped."
"That's certainly interesting to say the least Luke but how does this all correlate to another dimension and our current times?"
"Well at the end of twenty-eleven wiki leaks released an astounding two thousand pages of apparent war crimes committed in Libya,Iraq and Afhganistan. Yet in one brief page, which almost seems out of context as if only this tiny fragment could be discerned to have any apparent meaning, we see the term "Earth's special forces" mentioned in an event related to Albany New york on April third two-thousand-eleven and a supposed terrorist attack. The only event of any interest in Albany that apparent night was a major gas leak that closed off more than three city blocks for a period of around four hours. Witnesses reported hearing two moderate sized explosions and small amounts of gun fire along with what seemed to be soldiers running through the streets described in terms of something like a blackwater operation. ."
"Very strange for a gas leak."
"Indeed James and to that extent why would a militant force called Earths Special Forces be doing their. Even if it was a cover up of some terrorist attack wouldn't our own military be enough to handle such a sitiuation?"
"I think I see where you're going with this."
" with the supressed findings I mentioned above, along with what seems to be a modern cover up of some attack in New York seem to imply some universal threat that spreaded along all boarders of the ancient world and still does to this very day. A little secret war that has been supressed in our modern times yet the more we uncover seems to have been a very dominant theme in the ancient world."
"This is the central point covered in your book. Correct?"
"Yes but to an even greater extent. In nearly six-hundred pages I cover the whole gamut of what it is being supressed and more importanly why it's being supressed and who's responsible."
" We have very little time left Luke,do you have a website where perhaps your book can be ordered?"
"Yes you can go to lucasalbright.com or look up the book on Amazon."
"Thank your for your time mister Albright."
"It was my pleasure."

This is an attempt to take Mortal Kombat out of the actual story and show what it is to people on the outside. it's a supressed history forgotten by the masses and covered up by those who do know. I had a lot of fun writing this and hope you do reading. Comments and criticism is very welcomed.

Sorry that some of the characters didn't come up. Where the question marks are, their was orignaly Greek writing and where the numbers where it was chinese characters.
I would very much like to continue with this. The whole story is from the perspective of average people. Namely, Lucas Albright and is set during the timeline roughly of Mortal Kombat 3. Outworlds forces have marched upon earth and the general populous is pretty much in the dark about what is happening. Some believe it's an alien invasion, others are firm in stating it is the end of times.
I guess what i'm hoping to convey is the feeling of how awesome, terreroble and powerfull these characters really are. When writing about the lets say for example Sub Zero fighting scorpion you do get involved but either chracter is more than capable of handling themselves, however, imagine you're reading about a father of 3 who during a trip to central park is put in the middle of an invasion headed by Sektor and Kano, suddenly you feel as vunerable as the they do. Yet who is more the hero,Liu Kang for coming to the rescue or the father who sacrifices himself for the sake of his children?
In a brief nutshell that's what I want to explore with this little project.
