I'm voting for fake #2.

I'll edit in a write-up later on when I have the time.

I'll make this short and sweet. I like the effort, the general idea, and the execution of the first fake, but the background and the lack of detail and true atmosphere really lessens my liking it as a whole. The second fake feels and looks like Mortal Kombat should. The background is well done and the editing, while lacking in some aspects, looks good as a whole. I like the idea of the first, but the overall execution of editing and creation of the second one outclasses it.
Both artists did very well. I hope they both continue to produce content, and I look forward to it.

I must say fake 1 had a lot of originality and creativity behind it. Great job.

I have today free so I'm gonna finish my latest fake. It has a LOT more sprite editing =) and a 3D-like arena!

Here is the background btw, keep in mind i made it only for this fake so i didnt go crazy over details since I blackened it out and most of it was covered

That background is fuckin' amazing, Kamionero. Personally, I believe that the most glaring reason that you lost this competition, albeit by such a slim margin, is that the beam emanating from Adsler's abdomen overwhelmed the image and, as a result, diverted attention away from the background. While the fatality itself is very creative and was executed adequately enough, I think that you would have fared much better had it not engulfed a quarter of the image. Still, I was impressed with the ingenuity in both (what was able to seen of) the background and the fatality. I hope to see more work from you not only in future contests, but in fan submission form as well.

Nice! And very creative use of the Test Your Might diamond to outline the icy fighting plane.
