XENOCRATES early sketch...
Artist's Remarks: | |
This is a MK sub boss concept I came up with years ago. I tried to draw it. I am not great at drawing but figured I would try. I know there is no shaddings and the perportions are not yet equal. Great backstory, though.

Not bad for a drawing 'years ago'
Again tho, upperbody is pretty stiff, face is small, and ponytail needs more texture and flow to it (like the tail).
Pretty cool tho, new concepts are always cool.

Actualy I should have said the origanal sketch was done about two years ago but the head is basicly brand new and I tried to make the horse body more porportional (sp).
Anyway here is the backstory:
With all thats happened since, many have forgotten of the centuries of bloodshed between the Centaurs and the Shokan. It was near the peak of this brutal violence that a love was born. Nephthys was royalty within the Centaur race. She was arranged to marry a noble warrior Motaro after his return from the war against earth. This engagement was broke after Emperor Kahn chose Kintaro, a Shokan, over Motaro. Motaro's good name was ruined and Nephthys' parents decided she should marry another. But Nephthys was tired of her parents trying to run her life! One day she wondered into a dark forest and met a young peasant Shokan man named Bragi. At first the two were ready to fight but neither had the amount of pride as their families. They got to talking about their societies and their lives. They formed a bond as outcasts of their separate worlds. Their friendship was forbidden and that made it all the more desirables.
Nephthys and Bragi started seeing each other more and more. They began to fall in love. It was not long before they started talking about spending their life together. Not long after that Nephthys became pregnant. Her parents found out and questioned her as to who the father was. They would not want her raising a bastard child. She refused to answer. But the centaur warrior, Niord, who had always loved Nephthys, had saw her and Bragi together and he told her parents. This news spread all threw the land and even reached the Shokan villages. Outraged, the local community tied Nephthys up and tortured her. They then cut her tail off; this was a ritual to disbar a centaur from the whole race. It was her parents that finally burned her to death. Her discarded body was left in a near by swamp.
As the news of Nephthys' death spread, Bragi set out for revenge, before he could make it to Sage, her village; he was confronted by Kintaro himself. Kintaro revoked his name of Bragi and made him and all of his descendants bare the shameful family name of Exsul. In a fierce battle Kintaro came out victorious only after using a poisoned blade against Exsul. His body was burned as a gift to the Shokan gods.
It seemed their love ended in tragedy, but in a swamp outside of Sage a baby crawled out of his dead mother's womb. Xenocrates was born, and as he grows older he will seek out vengeance and blood.
It is a basic Romeo/Juliet story that still needs a lot of work but I am happy with.

Its too bad. You need to learn how to shade better. I like the concept though.
