Well, I didn't like the MK movies, and I have always loved the MK opening sequences. The MK:D and MK:A opening sequences were absolutely phenomenal, and I have watched each of them at least 10 times.

My question is, would any of you like to see a completely animated MK movie in the near future? With animation the way it is, I would absolutely love to.

Man, I've been thinking the excact same thing for ages.
Yeah I love watching the opening sequeces to. So yeah
a film would be awesome. Or maybe release a series, but in the
animated style like the openings, or maybe even animated but I would rather
a opening type of thing.wink

the Mortal Kombat animation crew is extremely amateur. the characters are too blocky - or have too little polygons contributed to them. so, I guess what I am trying to say is, yes, I like the idea, but have a different animation team that knows Mortal Kombat. I don't know, I also like the introduction scenes, but they are just amateur. that's just what I've noticed. :/

Do you mean American animation cause if so then I guess I could go for that but if you are talking the animation shit from Japan then hell fucking no.Have you seen what they did to batman? That thing looks horrible and doesn't do Batman justice.

Get some artist from Disney to do the movie and I think you got yourself a good product animation wise. And I am not talking about some kid movie just cause they worked at Disney I am just making a point that some of the best Animation artist work there and or for them.

BTW I am not anti Japan and far from it.There is so much great stuff that comes from there but I just don't like their animation is all but anything else is for the most part is cool.

Man. I can't explain how much I love that idea. I think an animated movie is just the thing for MK. CG of course. It could be phenomenal. I wouldn't mind if their was some Japanese or Korean animation teams doing it.. as long as the character design and general design elements were done stateside or by mk team members; and of course the story and script done in similar fashion. Preferably by someone who could understand that just because its animated doesn't mean its for children, and could incorporate some intelligent dialog.
Why korean or Japanese? Because I've yet to see an American animation studio do martial arts animated sequences, that are on par with Japanese or korean. Granted Pixar kicks ass, it just not their thing. But yes, the answer to your inquiry is most definitely yes.

absolutely not...a entire CGI movie will suck.
we're not talking about Capcom,a wealthy developer with huge staff, and a such important production like RE:Degeneration.
we're talking about MK franchise, almost unknown to new gen fanoboys(i mean the ten/eleven years old children who plays Tekken and DoA) and Midway, which is fighting against bankrupcy and haven't enough money to make a different graphic engine every year and keep using the same engine for...6 years?(DA,deception and Armageddon are proof).

so i oppose with any means necessary to a production of a animated movie..it would suck even more than Annihiliation.

I think an animated movie would be great.
Just look at the opening scenes for MK:A or MK:D.
Just think of a whole movie like that, cool huh? I love it!

Yeah I mean the proper 3D animation from America.

I think he means that they may already be making one. But I doubt they are.

It would be better than those pathetic excuses of films ever given the name Mortal Kombat. At the most they were bad. But the game intros were good.

As long as the animation is remotely realistic, like the person above said: Like in the cinematics, it would be cool.
But these days, everything needs to have a unique style to it. Not to bash on the new Star Wars movie, but I wouldn't want an MK animated movie to look like that.

It is a kinda good idea. And it would be nice. Because the only way the mortal kombat characters look good is what they actually look like in the game.

I completely disagree. I thought most every character in MKC looked pretty cool. Shao Kahn actually looks his best ever in Conquest, in my opinion.
I also like the simpler looking ninjas of the tv show and first movie than the overly dressed characters in MKDA-MKA.
