recently like a day or 2 ago i wrote this to mink on the IMDb boards...

Hey Mink your the director for the new MK movie right? is there any new news that you could tell the fans out there who are dying to know of any progress...seems like this thing is never going to happen...and i also heard theres a 30 million dollar budget...one thing i ask of you...please don't wreak this, right now MK movies need a boost of integrity, MK1 was good, MK2 was horrible, honestly sit down one day watch them both one after the other and just look at the differences, i think this will help you a lot, also just dont rush the movie please, people want to see a story thats not idiotic and stupid, and if you dont have the money for decent special effects, please just leave them out, man MK2 was horrible for that, it just made it worse, we've been waiting for this movie for some time now and our expectations are quite high..i dont mean to put pressure on you or anything but seriously consider everything you do while filming, think about the fans, MK1 was good because it didnt screw around, it kept too the story basically, didnt change too many things, didnt really make up stupid crap..i notice when movies based on games are made they always try to make something new up or create a variation of things, but really if you just stick to the story we'd be happy to just see the exact game come to life instead of all this made up crap. anyways i just thought id say this, cause i know its on a lot of peoples minds...hope to hear from you soon! your our only hope!

Hey J... Just what I have said before. We are working on the script right now and when its perfect we will move forward with casting etc. Look for an annoucement in the trades(Variety or HR) that will be the best indicator we are rolling on pre-production. For now we are in pre pre production. In regards to the previous films I agree the first is very well done in both structure and design. We all know that it will be impossible to do better than that so we are focused on new tellings of a cherished story and IP. Think of our approach as Batman Begins. Its a new introduction of a classic IP to new generation of fans as well as the exsisting audience. Back to the script. If its not on the page its not on the satge... Thanks for your post...
