Anything you do not understand in the films, cartoon, comics?

I'll start off by asking, why did Shang Tsung want Johnny Cage to enter the tournement in the first film. I understand lui kang, but why does he want Cage, because Cage doesnt even get challenged by Tsung. what do you think?

Hmmm, interesting Q...

Maybe he wanted his soul? Tsung expected them all to die, and Cage was supposedly one of the 3 possible chosen ones, maybe that's why he wanted Sonya there too...

I think Johnny Cage entered..if I remember correctly...because he was the really cool movie actor that wanted to enter the tournament to take a break from his movie career.....If that is what I remember correctly....He wanted to save the Earth from Shang tsung just as much as sonya blade or jax briggs...

Maybe he wanted Cage in cuz he knew he it would be easier for him to defeat Cage than Liu Kang. Cage wanted to prove he wasnt a fake, thats why he entered. And Shang did challenge Cage in the movie but Liu Kang stepped in and challenged Shang.

He most likely did it to take his soul & win the tournament & have Kahn take over Earthrealm.

Here's my question. In the movies, Kitana was the princess of Outworld. But in the games, she was the heir to the Edenian throne. What gives & how are they going to explain this in the thrid film.sad
Edit: Sorry, I forgot the films have no affect on the games.
I dont understand something in mk:a. When raiden wakes up at the end of the movie the elder gods say that "shinnoks son should take his rightful place" then raidens an elder god. Give answers please.

In mk:a Shinnok was the father of Raiden & Shao Khan. He was also an Elder God in that film. Maybe mk:devastation will be about the return of Shinnok?confusedconfusedconfusedconfusedconfusedconfusedconfusedconfusedconfusedconfusedconfused

Here's my question: Does anyone know where I can buy the original MK Comics? Like at an old comic book online store or something? If anyone knows anything about this please reply.

They were saving character space, and two shaolin monks would have hurt the overall easily flowing plotline. Well, at least from the creators opinion.

Here what I don't understand...

Why is it Kung Lao was included in the comics but he wasn't included in the movies or animated series???? This is the modern Kung Lao I'm talking about from the games here (NOT his ancestor)! Modern Kung Lao was an established main character in the storylines of MK2 and MK3 and it was WRONG to exclude him from both films and the cartoon. I've also heard he originally was meant to be in MKA. So what happened, why didn't he make it in??? A good answere would be much appreciated.

My guess as to why Kung Lao was missed from the movies is because they already had Liu Kang, the main hero of MK, and thought two Shaolin monks would be too much for a movie, simple as that.

Although I really didn't see much of the animated series, it looks like that is based on MK3 and beyond (it came out before MK4 was made). At that time, Kung Lao was considered to have been killed by Kahn at the end of MK3, and nobody knew he would later return in MKG. I don't think Johnny Cage, Mileena or Baraka ever showed up in that series either, so this could be why.

You have to remember that these things are NOT made by Midway, Midway let other companies use the lisence to make them, in order to sell the MK brand. These people play around with the games storyline as they like.

That's a nice guess but I wish we could get something official about why he wasn't in the second movie. Producers said he originally was meant to be in MKA but they don't say why he never made it in (they said the same thing about Sektor as well). If they didn't like having 2 shaolin monks in the same film than why did they have 2 special forces characters in MKA (jaxx and Sonya)??? Other than that why did they bother including more than 1 cyborg ninja if they weren't gonna include all 3 of them from the game?

Yep Jade, Mileena, Sindel and Kabal never made an appearance in the cartoon either and yet they made Nightwolf and Stryker regulars.

True. But I wonder if Midway got mad at themselves for letting New Line Cinema own their franchise. NLC was very responsible for the franchise killer MKA turned out to be.

Kabal did make an appearance in the cartoon. In fact they showed what he looked like before the extermination squads attacked him. I don't think Sindel, Jade, or Mileena was in. However, they introduced a new female ninja named Ruby (who was red) and she fell in love with Jax....but they never continued the character.
