I Don't Think They'll Ever Make Another Movie...

Yea, I'm stating this from Imdb again.

---Scripted but not filmed was a scene where Shang Tsung allowed the "Kombatants" a night to bury Art Lean and mourn his loss.
They buried him the Garden of Statues, underneath the statue of Kung Lao; this is the only place where Kung Lao appears in any of the movies.
Also scripted but not filmed was a battle between Sonya Blade (who wins, naturally) and Jade, another of Shang Tsung's bodyguards."---

What do you think the burial would have been like?
As I read in another post, someone said it would have been cool
(and it would have added so much more to this movie IMO)
Also, if they'd shown the fight between Sonya and Jade it would have also made it even better. I wonder what that could have been like too.

The scripters had all these nice ideas but decide not to film them.(idiots)

How good the first MK film was, you would've thought the second would be even better!
Why is it that the first is always better than the second? sad

Okay, I'm getting a bit off topic. Anyway, if Art Lean's burial was filmed, what would you have liked to see? Sonya place a flower over him, etc.
Then Shang Tsung saying, "Ok! That's Enough!" or something like that.

Well, I've never heard of this anywhere but on IMDB, however, I assume it's from the MK novel which I think the movie took most if not all of it's dialogue / script from.

As for the scene itself, I think this would have been absolutely AWESOME!
Great Kung Lao is one of my fave characters never playable in any MK game, and I really like the two lines mentioning him in the first movie:

Shang to Goro: "I've come to warn you that Kung Lao's descendant is competing in the tournament..."

Liu to Shang: "I am Liu Kang, descendant of Kung Lao"

Anyways, ever since I read that on imdb, I've looked closely at the garden of statues hoping to see the Original Kung Lao's statue in the background, kinda like how you see Scorpion at the start of the "And now for a taste of things to come" scene. However, I'm pretty sure it's not there sad

If they had have filmed that scene, they should have had Raiden explaining how he was "possibly thre greatest champion the realm of earth had ever seen (which is a quote from MK:TJB), and perhaps even having a kick ass flashback of Lao beating down Shang Tsung, and then valiantly losing to Goro.
Then Raiden could've aimed a subtle jibe at Liu Kang, maybe saying something about how much better, focused and prepared Kung Lao was than Liu (you know, reverse psychology stuff to make Liu more determined or something).

So yeah, that scene would've been awesome, especialy since I've always thought that the two lines of dialogue mentioning Kung Lao probably made no sense to someone unfamiliar with Mortal Kombat.

As for the Jade vs. Sonya fight. Well, that would've been cool too, since Sonya is only in one fight. However, maybe they realized Bridgette Wilson was a terrible fighter, and limited her to the one necessary scene. Jade woulda been cool though, a great MK2 addition to the movie to go with Kitana, Jax and Shao Kahn. Perhaps she could have been introduced VERY subtly in the Living Forest (ala the game) popping out from behind a tree during Scorpion and Johnny Cage's fight, but very hard to see. Your watching and are kind of like "did I see what I think I saw?" Then she could have had a great unexpected intro like Reptile has, where she comes in kicking Sonya's ass.

I think the storyline they started is really stupid, The Great Kung Lao is not the ancestor of Liu Kang, he is the ancestor of Kung Lao...

I know the movie is not the real story, but if you do a movie on a game, can you at least know the basic storyline...

This is my opinion...
