Found this on Dark Horizons today:

---
"Filming is rumoured to be finally beginning in November on the third "Mortal Kombat" film and Linden Ashby is already believed to be reprising his role as Johnny Cage - this makes him the fourth original castmember to return (Robin Shou , Talisa Soto and Christopher Lambert being the others)."
---

That's GREAT news; The most concrete info yet on MK3, as Dark Horizons is a VERY reliable source when it comes to movies.

I'd be suspicious over stuff that says Shou is in it. Or that Liu is in it.

who says he's dead? Perhaps the movie just won't be about him.
That's very unlikely... They can't base the fist two films on Liu and then not have him at all for part 3.

Well, if this is true, they really must've changed the original story that was planned for MK3. meh, I guess this could be good. Could be bad too, though. I dunno. yeah, I dunno.
well, just b/c u say u know wat the official story is, doesn't mean it REALLY is the official story... my guess is that u were wrong, and that the official story has nothing to do with the story you previously stated.

If a worker at the threshold said what the story was all those years ago, I'd say it counted as official. We weren't ever ''wrong'', we just said what Kung Lao had told us.
true, but Kung Lao doesn't work there anymore; He wouldn't know if there is a new script or not, which there probably is.

I'd love it if there was a new movie, but TTC looks like a wreck. I'm starting to think, there are better odds for the next movie, if the rights were sold to some other company.

I'm sure there's someone who wants it, after MKDA's success.

maybe there will be a trailer in time for the super bowl if this is true.
