I while ago when Threshold said that the 3rd MK movie was in very early developement one source ...i don't remember but i think it seamed realiable...one of the linked sites from Threshold or another Mksite. But the rumor was that Ray Parks (Darth Maul & Toad from Xmen) would be playing Rieko. Also I think i read somewhere that Brian Anderson or Singer? (I forget) was in talks to direct the movie. I think they where talking about the guy who directed the first movie. Also multiple sites had reported that Christopher Lambert (the original raiden) wouldn't be in the 3rd movie cuase of other commitments so the one who played him in MK:A would be getting the contract. ...Oh shit i just realized that that guy who played Raiden in MK:A is also in 2 Fast 2 Furious.

Well, first I'm curious as to whether Threshold are even in proper existence at the moment, since all their sites havent been updated in like 18 months and they have no current productions airing.

Secondly, Ray Parks was the stunt double for Rayden in MKA, hence where that rumour probably came from.

Thirdly, Paul Anderson who directed the first one is in development hell trying to make Aliens Vs Predator (oh god) at the moment, so he wont be doing MK3.

Fourthly, there's no concrete cast yet. In my opinion, the most likely candidate to do Rayden would be Jeff Meeks from MK Conquest, since they clearly realised their errors in MKA and subsequently disposed of any of their bad ideas (such as unmasking Khan etc)... so I'd imagine due to the severe negative feedback to Remar's performance in MKA, he would be unlikely to get the job.

Finally, I'm a firm believer the movie is NEVER going to be made, kind of like Doom: The Movie, Alien 5, Predator 3, Star Wars 7-9, Super Mario Bros 2 or Duke Nukem.

Star Wars 7-8-9 has been talked about so don't count those out. George has always wanted to do another trilogy. Because the story doesn't end with ep6. He said so in DVD inteviews.

But' we'll have to wait and see

Yeah and George also said in an interview that after he's done completely with the first six that that was it...he has no plans to do more movies...he wants family time with his family, and he doesn't think he'll have the energy to do another 3. I personally would love to see a at least one more movie though, probably a prequel to episode one with different characters that explains the feud between the jedi and the sith, but certainly not anouther 3 movies.

Super mario bros 2...you don't know it, but 2 years ago, it was said that the movie would be made one day (I don't remember where).
Alien 5 and Doom: the movie are in development, so it's a matter of time we can see another mk film ( I suppose with MK6 game, next november).
