I think it was something like Durak or Doro, but I'm not completely sure. I do believe his brother existed only in Mortal Kombat: The Journey Begins, yes?

It was Durak (or Duroc or Durok - can't remember the spelling, ]{0MBAT knows) and I think you're right that he's only in MK: TJB, but he may also be in the comics.

I think he'd be a cool character to see in the games actually, him or Gorbak...

Kintaro isn't Goro's brother.

I remember Goro having a brother in the Animated Movie, but it's been a long time since I saw it. I can remember he was alot darker than Goro, and that Goro killed him (tricked him) after his brother beat him in Kombat!

Hardly any information regarding Durak is available, though I did stumble across two images of him over at Mortal Kombat Secrets.

Basically, from what I know, Durak is Goro's possibly jealous brother who attempted to claim the title of Champion by defeating him in Mortal Kombat. Failing, Goro mercilessly murdered his sibling, ending Durak's short and honestly pointless time in the spotlight. Not much else to say, really. tongue
it was sumthing like that.... but there was a crystal and they were fighting for that too..... and Durak could kill Goro if he wasnt so kind... i think the jealous 1 was Goro... cuz Durak defeated him, but Goro doesnt like the idea that he was defeated and attacked him from the back and killed him...

Ok, I have MK: The Journey Begins - so I'll break it down for all of you...

Durak is Goro's older brother, and on their father's (Gorbak) birthday, it was a Shokan tradition to honour the king with the best present possible.

Durak travelled to the deepest cave in their subterranean realm, and found the rarest of all gifts - a jeweled nica egg.

We see him go to give this to Gorbak, but Goro - jealous - challenges Durak to fight over the egg, and the victor will pay their tribute to the king with the egg.
So they fight, Durak - stronger and smarter than Goro, defeats his brother pretty easily, knocking him off a cliff edge. Goro is holding on trying not to fall to his death (just like the scene in the MK movie) and Durak, having won, helps him up.
Durak picks up the egg and goes to give it to Gorbak, but Goro sucker punches him and knocks Durak (still holding the egg) over the ledge. Goro tells Durak to hand him the crystal, or it will be lost forever, he does this and then ushers for Goro to help him up in the same way he had done. However, Goro stamps on Durak's hand and he falls into the cavernous abyss.

Surprisingly, Gorbak is pleased, cus Goro exhibited cunning and ruthlessness, and that's the Shokan way...

- And that's how it all went down -

*Imo Durak should be in a future MK, especialy since they show him to be stronger than Goro*

Definitely sounds as if his character has potential. Cheers for the information, krsx66.

No problem, not many people have seen MK: TJB - so I don't mind describing it for those who haven't.

If anyone wants to know how the CGI/3D Sub Zero vs. Scorpion, Great Kung Lao vs. Goro or Shang Tsung vs. the Temple of the Order of Light Grandmaster's fights went down, I'll post a description...
now that i can still remember...... too bad those 3d battles... i dnt like them too much... but it was made at ages so ill forgive it...lol
