Mortal Kombat: A trilogy in four parts...
*The Movie.
*Devastation (running time 2h20m)
Begins with the final scene from The Movie – i.e. the showdown at the Shaolin Temple grounds.
Kahn (Jeff Meek): “You weak and pathetic fools, I’ve come for your souls!”
Raiden (Jeff Meek/Christopher Lambert): “I don’t think so!”
Kahn laughs his maniacal laugh and roars “Annihilate them!” Portals are opening up in the sky overhead and in a matter of seconds, the temple grounds are overrun by Tarkatan warriors led by Baraka (Kimball Sultan Uddin) and Mileena (Dana Hee). The monks are slain; Sonya (Trish Stratus) and Cage (Linden Ashby) are captured, while Liu (Robin Shou) almost loses his head to a sneak attack by Baraka. Baraka appears to be getting the better of our hero in their battle, but ultimately falls victim to the blade on the hat of Kung Lao (Paolo Montalban).
Accompanied by Jax (Red Williams) but minus Raiden for the time being, they travel to the shaman Nightwolf (Litefoot), who unveils to them a doorway to Outworld.
Raiden sacrifices his immortality, the Lin Kuei send Sub-Zero (J.J. Perry)’s younger brother to exact revenge on Shang Tsung (they don’t know he has died) through their own doorway to Outworld, but being suspicious by some of his more recent actions, they send Smoke (John Medlan) to keep an eye on him. In the background of the Lin Kuei headquarters, we see the outlines of Sektor and Cyrax. Scorpion (Chris Casamassa) escapes the confines of the Netherealm, and also travels to Outworld upon learning from someone (Quan (Adoni Maropis) in disguise?) that Sub-Zero has travelled there.
Kitana (Summer Glau), Jade (Tracy Douglas) and Reptile (Keith H. Cooke) are both scheduled to appear before an ending that looks like it was ripped right out of Shaolin Monks (but with perhaps Reiko (Jim Helsinger) taking the place of Shang Tsung, Kintaro (Deron McBree) being CGI). In the epic battle it is Liu and Kung Lao taking on the emperor. A hammer blow puts Liu out of action almost indefinitely, but in the recoil of the hit, Kahn is caught off exposed and vulnerable, and loses his head to the Kung Lao’s death hat. As the survivors celebrate their win together with the Edenians and other friendly Outworld subjects, they fail to see a robed figure walk over to the body of Shao Kahn and remove the amulet from his body. Quan Chi looks up, smirks at the camera saying something like “game on”, and teleports away.

*Devastation (running time 2h20m)
Begins with Quan Chi sitting atop a throne in the bowels of the Netherealm. Three of his vixens stand before him, but his attention is not on them. Beyond them in the distance he can see the sorcerer, Shang Tsung (Bruce Locke) fighting a blood lusting corpse. Looking down at his amulet, he decides that the time is now, and nods to someone off screen. In a heartbeat, Tsung is surrounded by five Brothers of the Shadow (Kimball Sultan Uddin, Jon Valera, John Medlan, J.J. Perry and Silk Manning) who launch a coordinated, very deadly attack. Tsung surprises Quan Chi, taking out three of them with only minimal effort. When another one falls victim to a flaming skull, it is down to Noob and Tsung battling it out. Noob gets the upperhand when a flaming green skull tears through his chest (are the undead ever really dead?), and Quan Chi announces himself, proposing an alliance. The two fight, but when Chi easily accounts for the demon sorcerer and has him on the brink of death, Tsung accepts but says it’ll cost Chi.
Go to Shaolin Temple grounds where Liu and Kung are sparring. Kang is still showing signs of recovery from his near death situation in the fight against Kahn. The next part runs a bit like the Deadly Alliance intro as Tsung gets his reward.
Quan Chi reveals to Tsung the amulet, and tells through his travels the tales he has heard told about it, and of the legendary Dragon King (this part may be showing images of the Dragon King on his conquest at a time in the distant past).
Fujin (Earthrealm’s new protector, following Rayden’s appointment to the council of Elders) is talking to Rayden about the death of Liu Kang, as well as about stories he’s heard about who was behind it. When hundreds of warriors get invited to the Hong Kong docks, Fujin decides to follow. On Shang Tsung’s island they are ambushed by Oni, and most are slain. The few who survive, protected by Fujin, go on to what remains of Outworld where they plan to bring an end to the plans of the Deadly Alliance.
In the ensuing battles, Frost is killed by Noob Saibot (who we learn is Sub-Zero from MK1), Sonya by Kabal (who was fighting on the side of Earthrealm until the promise of power lured him), Cage by Reptile, and Siang (or a character similar – would love to see the merging monks in a movie) by Moloch. Most of the rest die at the hands of the Oni, leaving Fujin to face off against Tsung and Chi. In an epic battle, Fujin is defeated, as the souls of the victims cross into the bodies of the undead. Their victory however is short lived as an electrical storm signals Raiden entering the room. With lightning striking all around him, he looks p’d. Tsung and Chi loosen the blades which hang from their sides, Raiden unveils his hammer. The screen goes black as we hear the sound of metal on stone.

*Deception (running time 2h20m)
Based on MK6 and in parts MK7.

I didn’t include the story of Earth’s invasion, or Shinnok, or Sindel because the story is pretty much as if they never happened. If we are to believe Boon that MKSM is an official part of the story, then while Liu won the third and fourth tournaments, Kahn was killed at the end of the second tournament, and events started up again at the beginning of MK5 (I don’t see Chi as being all that much of a servant or prisoner from that game, so that questions the role of Shinnok. While Kahn may have been resurrected by the Outworld gods to explain his role in the intro, or it may have been another).

Sorry brother I don't have time to read the whole thing, but I did get to the bit where it said Sonya should be played by...Trish Stratus? She may have the acting ability, but she just looks WAY too fake brother.
