I think they should just make their own story and add various things from the game.

Actually it was like this:

Mk: Based on Mk1 and part of Mk2.

The first film was based on the story of the original Mk game, but it had many things added that where from Mk2 like: Kitana and the Outworld part where Cage and Liu travel to rescue Sonya.

MkA: Actually based more on Mk3 then in Mk2, and had a little of Mk4!

The movie was based more on Mk3. I mean, we had Sheeva, Motaro, Ermac, Noob, Rain, Kabal and Striker where mentioned, Cage was killed, Jax with metal arms, Sindel, etc. Also, it was an invasion, not a second tournament.

It also had Shinok, who played a BIG role in something Im thinking about. By using him, they can skip the Mk4 storyline very easily and use the Mk5 one. I mean, they can say (since they always change stuff) Shinok is dead or captured for eternety.

Also, the movie original ending had Quan Chi in the netheralm doing something.

Mk3: Most likely to be based on Mk5, probably mix some invented stuff of Mk6 and use a little of Mk4.

I mean, MKDA broke records! And its story is much better then Mk4 and fans love it way more, why the hell use the Mk4 storyline?

They could also invent something about Mk6, or just end the movie with Reptiles ending, leaving hopes for a Mk4 movie where we get to see the Dragon King and it will be based on Mk6.

It could use somestuff of Mk4, but not really.

So, I beleive its gonan be based on mk5. I HOPE at least.

Yeah, that's what I'm hoping for. Shinnok was a character that I'm pretty sure wasn't too well accepted.

I also agree that they should use MKDA, it has a much better storyline, and so many sub storylines that the movie could go on for like hours.

i'm just hopeing they skip the 4th game and have it based on the 5th. it seems to be the best choice for a game-movie set up.

I agree. The reason they decided to make a movie of Mk was cause of the game success, they know better then to make a Mk movie based on a not so popular Mk game. MKDA has a great storyline.

Actually, considering that the script has been finished for quite some time now, they probably wont base it on MK6 at all, and I doupt it'll be based on MKDA aswell.

there was a rumore waaaaaay long ago that the 5th game and the last movie were suposed to be ralised at the same time. i'm still gona put my monye on it. ^_^

Nah. It's most likely going to be based on MK4. That's the last thing Kunglao said on Threshold. And I think it's better they do it that way considering that Shang and Kahn are both dead. Shinnok was banished to the netherealm waiting to get out and that's where Quan chi comes into picture.

But remember, anything can change during 3, 4 or 5 years of waiting for a movie that we only heard rumors!

what i heard from somewhere very reliable but i forgot was that they were gonna base 1/4 of the movie on mk4 then the other 3/4 on mk5! bam u got ur anwser.

how about they base it on MKM-SZ? I remembered KL saying that. Eh... gotta go check on the quotes.
