Peter Jackson is obviously a friggin genius (not overexadgerating). I don't know of a movie he's directed that has'nt turned out to be great. I don't know how he would do with a martial arts film, but, for drama and special effects, I think that Jackson would be a great director for MK3. I'm not into the MK franchise (games, cartoons, comic books, etc...) myself--I've personally outgrown it. However, the story, characters, and charisma of MK have all the ingredients of a GREAT Martial Arts/Sci -Fi movie, very possibly the greatest ever created. It has incredible unprecidented potential. And, I don't think this movie should be made for kids, like MK:Annihilation was (they might as well have called it Mighty Mortal Kombat Rangers---uugggghh--puke). But, I think that this one (MK3) should be made with the ambition of Lord of the Rings. They need to have the best martial arts choriographers, literally on this earth (and thats not a stretch).

And another thing is that they should not overhype this film. That is a big mistake that many movie producers make. A great film speaks for itself.

You just over-hyped it before they got the chance! wink Peter Jackson would probably turn the role down, I think he prefers to work with original ideas instead of sequels which were media rejects. Besides, George Cosmatos has apparently been confirmed by internet sources. I would enjoy a movie with great effects, especially a fight scene made completely from it. Threshold can repair their mistake in Annihilation.
