Is it possible to re-edit Annihilation and turn it tolerable?

We all heard about a lot of deleted scenes, alterate ending, chopped fight scenes, distorting Kasanoff's original vision for the movie. So I wonder if is it
possible to re-edit the movie and put together what was cut, and improve
the special effects, just like Davis & Panzer did for "Highlander 2". Even producers Joshua Wexler and Kasanoff stated in '99 that they were working on a Special Edition of MK:A, but we haven't heard anything about it yet.

"I would love to release a MKA Special Edition. I wish the version we release wasnt what it turned out to be. We were over-ruled by the studio (New Line Cinema) on MKA. To get approval for MKA:SE we would have more of the political crap to go through but we are still working on it and we hope to show you the film you guys would like to see."
