The trailer shows Cage as a washed-up action star thrown into MK’s chaos. Fans are split: some love the depth, others miss the classic younger cage. Does this version elevate the lore—or dilute it?

I really despise the tired, old, overused, and lore-defiant "cage is a washed up has-been" story arch. It's very clear in game bios, endings, and the comics that he IS a Hollywood superstar. And he's not an old fuck.

.

I resent Kevin Tancharoen spearheading this silly version of Cage in his abhorrent MK Legacy series and casting the actual old, has-been actor Casper Van Whatever-the-fuck from Starship Troopers. I feel everyone now just perpetuates this stupidity as if it's who Cage should be.

.

Hopefully MK2 surprises me and does him justice... But based on the trailer, they're just retreading old ground.
