shao kahn killed him..but did so by breaking the rules...so maybe the elder gods will bring him back since it was basically cheating

He will be in MK3, but not that way.

The thing is they are completely disregarding MKA, so it basically never happened in this movie! Last I heard, it's the same actor who will be playing him.
