well most rumours floating around are saying that the new MK Movie will be set around MK4 MKDA

The Director of Mortal Kombat Devastation, Mink, and Threshhold announced some time last year that this next film will completely ignore the existance of mortal kombat annhilation and it will pick up where the first movie left off








it will most likely be based around MK3 and lead somewhat into MK4 by introducing several characters at the end. That is if they decide during production that another movie might result in success, then they might lead into MK4.

Who even said MK3 would be based on the MK3 games?

Yup, and we also know the biggest reason why....

MK3 is the sequal to the first movie because MK:A sucked so bad its not even a movie.

and i heard that the next MK movie was supposed to be based on MK4 and go into MKDA a bit

MKA isn't that bad I kindof like it, but I will agree that the first movie is better than the second.

actually, MK1 and MKA were both based on MK2. MK1 cuz of what u said, the sonya things. and MKA cuz Shao Kahn lured them into Outworld as his famous plan. It also featured MK3 cuz of course his whole Sindel plan. And what's the pojnt of making MK3 if MKA was already based on MK3? how about basing MK3 the movie be based on MK4? The number doesnt HAVE to match the game number.

First of all MKA was Awsome and it was based on MK3 and MKdevastation is gunna be based on MK4 going a bit into MKDA

yeah i'm sure the ending will show Quan Chi doing something with Shang Tsung to build suspense for MK4.

Really, who cares what games they are based on? Hell, its not like they intend to follow canon storyline even if they DO "base" it on a game. While the first MK movie was at least watchable, it urinated all over the MK game canon, while MKA was awful and did the same but in vaster quantities. Its less a question of which game the new movie will be based on, and more a question of which game they intend to bastardise next.

At least if they do MK4 there is not so much they can screw up, what with that game being the least favourite of the main series.

I fail to see why they want to forget Annihilation though. The only thing that will come out of this is the same characters and the same story but "better" since they won't try to fill the movie with tons of "die in 2 seconds" characters.

I'd rather see them move on and start with Mk4 than seeing Mortal Kombat Trilogy all over again.

Of course, that is if they don't make an awesome gem out of the "remake".

But if they forget Annihilation, it's going to stay a remake for me.

Every Trilogy has a bad movie. Annihilation would be the MK movie Trilogy's bad movie. That's all. A good movie, a bad sequel and an outstanding finale. Nearly every trilogies are like that.
