Here`s my two cents worth; the Mortal Kombat movies are THE best game to movie adaptations and here`s why - like the 1st Matrix movie, the MK movies are the best examples of non comic book based comic book type movies: the first MK movie worked because of Johnny Cage - he gave the audience something real to root for and also because unlike comic book movies, all of the MK favourites survived the transition to celluloid without any of their costumes or motivations being tampered with so MK: Annihilation takes its rightful place along with X-3 as one of the most faithful adaptations in terms of character appearances, cameo`s and unmolested costumes (Think of Hugh Jackman`s Wolverine - 6foot plus and no blue/yellow spandex - until he popped his claws you couldn`t be sure he was Wolvie) but no such probs with the MK movies and that`s why they`re superior to the likes of SuperMario Bros, Streetfighter, the Resident Evil flicks et al. Funny how comic book films are nothing like the comics unlike the video game movies...

there's no doubt about that annihiliation is a way better than stret fighter the movie, super mario, and also Resident ebvil both movies.
the problem is another,in mk annihiliation were used horrible specialòeffects, horrible recitation(except for liu Kang/Robin Shu and Lynn Williams/jax,who enter in the role very well) and TOO MUCH cameos.
i don't see why,for istance, johnny acge should die just in the beginning of the movie, without fighting and i don't understand why shao kahn kill cage instead of rayden.
and, hated or loved by fan, johny cage was a character that could possibily add more story into that movie.
idem for rain, noob and baraka they appear just few minutes.
they could fight at least,or maybe neither appear in the movie,it's better avoid some characters instead of forcing writers to write stuopid storyline to tie everyone in the movie.
but the worst character is sheeva, dying without honor and with a useness role in the movie:a fighting scene with kitanawould be a way better.
and,in the end,how to forget the animality thing?
hat horrible my friend!
it should be a good idea, maybe use animality for finish off kahn not to fight him in a stupid duel dragon vs hydra remebering be Python vs cobra8a horror b-movie).

first of all, the second movie sucked, there was not one critic that gave this movie a high score. i've wathced this movie so many times and recounted how many flaws are in this moive and i can gladly tell you them all:
first of all, the fact that having one person die right in the beginning was abolutely stupid. i know its cage, but hey, linden ashby totally kicked ass as cage, made cage what he should be like, and because he didn't want to do the second film, got some lame person who no one heard of just filled in his spot and just get killed off like that. becuase of that scene, i was like "this moive fucking sucks right now!"
secondly, the fact that sonya started acting like a total bitch, saying weird crap to jax before saying "why did johnny have to die" personally made sonya stupid. besides, bridgette wilson was an excellent choice, with sandra hess, yeah who the hell is she and why was she chosen?
reptile had clones, and becuase he story clearly said that he was teh last of his race, then why were there three reptiles? i guess the director was too busy making this moive look like shit to actually realize that what he did with reptile was stupid.
sheeva being crushed by a cage, come on can you really think of a stupid way to kill a cool character like that? and since when can ermac create a noob siabot? do not tell me becuase ermac is made of souls he can do that, noob and ermac are two different characters with different storylines and are not related in anyway possible
kahn and raiden are not brothers, i dont care if the director wanted to added a little twist to the damn movie, that was not a cool thing to do.
the fact that kitana and mileena did not fight each other was stupid. why would you not have the sisters fight against each other instead of a stupid mud fight scene?
jade is not asiain. nor is just pure white, she's tan.
becuase of this movie, nightwolf is no longer a favorite character of mine.
the animalities were stupid. yeah choosing to use them against kahn for only five seconds really did something! and it was stupid looking. the animations were all choppy, and a hydra for kahn? come on, a hydra? i like them, but honestly i could have thought of a better monster than that, hell james p. sullivan from monster's inc could have probably been a better choice.
shinnok is not a father to anyone in the game
baraka's mask as well as the other tarkatans looked like crap.
jade and rain's deaths were so stupid. so pointless. even rain and ermac's characters were pointless in this movie. the director wanted to have so many of the characters be in the game, but becuase they served no purpose whatsoever in here, John R. Leonetti probably never even played the game once, that this is one of the reasons why mortal kombat was losing a lot of attention towards fans during the mid 90's before mk4 brought back the love. because leonetti directed a shitty movie and made mortal kombat look like a pile of dog crap that got microwaved and smelled even horrible than it once was, he went on in creating movies like joe dirt, which obviously sucked as well, and that is the only movie i hated christopher walken in. i hated that so much becuase he was in that movie, he did not belong in a fricken redneck moive like that, if anything he could ahve been in a different movie, just not joe dirt.
i would make more comments about this movie, but i see that im making this too long.
