Have you ever noticed how MKC and the MK movies seem to influence the games in some aspects?
Here are the movie/conquest influences I've noticed:
- Before the MK Movie, Liu Kang and Kitana had no love relationship whatsoever. Only in MK4(which was the first MK game- not counting MK Mythologies and Trilogy- to come out after the movie) did Kitana ask Liu to return to Edenia with her and be her husband.
- Sub-Zero's stance in Mortal Kombat Conquest kinda resembled his Dragon Stance in MKDA.

Scorpion's Pi Gua stance resembles the stance Scorpion went to in the mk movie and in MKC before launching his serpent.

The character Bo Rai Cho I think was inspired from Master Cho from MKC- They both trained the chosen warriors of earth, they are both wise old martial artists, and well...they both have ''Cho'' in their names :p

The whole main plot of MKDA- Shang Tsung and Quan Chi teaming up- was obviously based on the MKC episode, ''Unholy Alliance'', in which Quan Chi and Shang Tsung...well, make an alliance to attract Kung Lao to a false world, and trap him there. In the end, they ended up double crossing each other, and the plan failed....

What other mk movie and media influences on the games have you found?

Good question. Well there is Rayden's hair. His hair in the MK movie and MKC influenced his look in MKDA. Sonya sort of resembles her look in the MKA movie. Kano had the Australian thing going on in MKDA which was influenced from the character in the MK movie.

Good finds Zentile, in MKDA Kano sort of resembled the Kano from the first MK movie, Reptile is partly based on Reptile for the movie and also I think Jax's personality in MKA influenced him in MKDA because he is always saying "Oh yeah" and "Thats what I'm talking aoubt" in an arrogant manner.

There are a LOT of things:

-Sonyas look in Mk4 is EXACTLY like Bridgtte Wilson from the movie.
-Sonyas look in MKDA is like Sandra Hess (kind of) from the movie.
-Raydens look (white hair) in MKDA is from the movies.
-Cages ending (Sonya/Cage love) and look in MKDA says something about their “love”, from the movies.
-Reptiles look in MKDA is like in the movie.
-Lius ending in Mk4 (Kitana/Liu love) says something about their “love”, from the movies.
-Goro in Mk4 looks like the Goro of the movie, much more different then its first version in Mk1.
-Kitanas ending in MKDA might mean something about Liu/Kitana love, from the movies.
-Jax personality in MKDA kind a resembles to the one in the movie.
-The boat where they travel to get to Tsung island in the movie, its just like the one in MKDA.
-Kano in MKDA looks like the Kano in the movie.
-Kitanas first appearance in Mk4 with NO MASK was from the movies.
-In MKDA there is stuff such as Kanos combo thing “Ear to Ear” and stuff like that, that came inspired from the movies.
-Sonyas Leg Grab fatality in Mk4 was inspired from her neck brake fatality in Mk1, the movies.

Thats all I can think for know, more later.

I think Kitana's long braid and steel fans came from the movies and MK conquest as well. In MKA and MKC her fans had blades sticking out of them like in MKDA. She's also got her hair in a long braid like in both the movies.

Jade's look in MKA might've also influenced Mileena's look in MK Gold.

That's all for now.

Very true, I just noticed that Kitanas fans in MKDA look just like the ones she used in MKA, not completely but very alike.

In MKMovie, Shang had to order twice, for Goro to kill Art.

In MK4, Goro proved to be honorable warrior.

before that, he was just an evil brute.

What does that have to do with the media influences on the games?
