The most interesting thing is it said that Havik was neutralized. That doesn't necessarily mean he died though so I wonder if he'll come out of this alive and well and maybe ready for the next game or whatever.

Excited to see Sub-Zero vs. Sektor though and the cover looks great imo.

This is glorious. Never thought we'd see Sektor so close to the end.
Wow, that's unexpected. I hope Cyrax shows up too

I think he said they have planned out the story through to the end of the year, and depending on sales would hope to do a run similar to injustice Gods Amongst Us.

I wouldn't mind that. So many side stories they could introduce in a lead in to the future game.

There's 36 issues in the first "season".

I doubt Kittelsen will be able to touch beyond MKX even if they do another run. NRS will probably keep that for themselves to continue the story how they see fit.

There's still a lot of room for other stories between the 25 years of MKX.

The obvious would be the missions done by Kung Jin, Takeda, Jacqui and Cassie before the group was put together. You know those missions they bragged about during story mode?

They could also introduce a war against the Orderrealm since they've taken care of the Chaosrealm.

Despite most of the series being noncanon except most of the backstories and some major plot discrepancies between the game and the comic series, I would have preferred Kittelsen be the one to write MKX's game script instead of Vogel.

This.

They could also flashback even further and expand on the Netherrealm War, show us who exactly was involved on each side. That could lead to us seeing more of Fujin, Bo' Rai Cho and Kenshi, all the revenants and maybe even open up slots for us to see people like Kai and Sareena. There's also the small chance of seeing characters like Jataaka, Kia, Drahmin and Moloch now that I think about it.

Near the end of this series, I would love to see a surprise cameo of Daegon in the Red Dragon headquarters. I'd picture him in the shadows as an intimidating and psychopathic figure since the scary part is that he is PART GOD so he's bound to fuck up things for people on Earthrealm. Now that Raiden has gone dark and reckless, the defenders might have to rely on outside help possibly his brother Taven near the future.

I believe at some point on his twitter, Kittelsen teased seeing more of the revenants and us learning about what happened to Moloch. Probably need to do some digging through his replies.

FINALLY!!

This is THE FIGHT every true Sub-Zero fan was waiting for. Mentioned in both timelines, never shown until now, and that cover rocks! This is the fight that defined Kuai Liang in both timelines and is more important than any Scorpion fight he's had.

About the future of the series I hope they keep adding stuff from those 25 years.

In the mobile game they imply that Johnny did get Seido training like in his MK9 ending, maybe after the Netherealm war Raiden sends him there because Johnny mentions in MKX that Raiden tried to make him reproduce the green energy stuff, so I hope they confirm that as canon.

I firmly believe that this is the direction the comic should have gone since the Beginning.
Not a parallel story (although cool and interesting), the comics had to fill the gaps in the Story Mode of the game.
Sub-Zero vs Sektor was one of the Most important "off-screen" events in the story mode of MK X. But also the implied homosexuality of Kung Jin and his past as thief and with the "Lao" family.
The missions in Iran, Darfour and so on by Jacqui and Cassie.
What happened to Cyrax after Mk9?
How long Sareena was working as informant for the Special Forces and how she won Sonya's trust?

The comics had to answer this question and interwine with the main story.

It's not really a parrallel story. We don't know all of the 25 years this is part of it. I like it. Sure there in consistenties but oh well it happens. And yeah I'm happy to see the sector thing. After all chapters 34-36 aka issue 12 is the finale so I'm glad it'll show a few moments of how sub zero regains the Lin quei. If there isn't a season two I'll be fine but I'm definitely getting it if they do make it

It would be awesome to see Daegon and Taven. I always tought Daegon was redeemable and the 2 brothers are destined to team up.

Don't know if Kenshi will agree to that though... wow
