Does everyone think a third MK movie would use a bit actor for its head villain like in the other movies? MK1 had Shang Tsung, who was also a bad pirate on that Hulk Hogan boat show, some wussy warlord on a crappy SciFi channel show, and about a million other stupid things.

Shao Kahn from MK:A was the same. He was a klingon in star trek episodes a few times, a military guy in Epoch, a bad movie, as well as a few dozen other terrible appearances?

Come to think of it, Kano from the first movie would probably fall into the same category, with his previous work as Bay Watch and his current work for some vacuum cleaner commercials or something.

You think they will keep this up?

I agrre, especially with the Shao Kahn thing. He's just a pretty bad actor in my opinion. I really hated him during the "Charmed" season finale.

They'll definitely keep with this trend, because they can't afford anyone but B-grade actors. That, and the big names would probably refuse to be involved with such a non-prestigious movie.

And although Cary Hiroyuki-Tagawa isn't exactly a big star, I think he was very well cast as Shang Tsung. Brian Thompson, on the other hand, was a joke as Shao Kahn.

If Shinnok's the major villain in the third film, I'd expect to see someone like Bruce Payne (the bad guy in Highlander 4 and Warlock 3) playing him. Which would actually be pretty good, but again, he's not a big name.

Bruce Payne would be excellent as Shinnok...and I thought the guy who played Shang in MK1 was good...I wont even acknowledge Shao Kahn...and even if Bruce Payne doesn't play shinnok he could still play Quan Chi.

Brian Thompson isnt a bad actor. the movie was written badly. as for bruce payne...i agree he's a great villian. i think Clancey Brown(the kuragen in Highlander)would make an awsome Quan Chi!Donnie Yan Should play Kung lao and Adrain Paul as Kenshi.thats my choise for a perfect main character/actor roster for Domination. you'll notice most of these people are from highlander but theyre all awsome actors!

I think I sounded a bit harsh in my first post. I did really enjoy Shang in MK1 and was glad he was in it. I honestly think that was the best role Cary Hiroyuki-Tagawa ever played.

I hadn't thought about the effects of the bad writing on Shao Kahn in the second one. The movie was terribly written. They essentially through away a fruitful and interesting storyline in favor of one that someone probably thought up after playing the MK games for about 10 minutes.

I agree that Payne would be pretty good. I really can't think of anyone better. But, honestly, I am not a fan of the storyline of MK4 and after. I played MK4 a bit when it came out, pretty much only to hear how the storyline went.

If another Mortal Kombat Movie is to happen, the Actors and the Story have to be chosen and crafted for the screen, not to reflect precisely how things looked in the game.
