If that's the one by Jeff Rovin, I've read it.
You can still order it I think on Amazon or half.com.
If you want a summary of the book, go here:

there are three that I know of: MK1 movie book, MKA movie book and some other one I think it is the jeff roven (sp) one i'm not sure. anyway the MK1 book was good, a little better than the movie, IMO, and the MKA book was pretty good too, all except the Raiden/Kahn brother thing. It was better the than the movie by a long shot. the other one was pretty good to. It give a lot of insight into chinese history and it religions and is pretty well writen. the only thing i didn't like was the way Liu got his fire projectile ability and for some reson Sub was covered to his ears with Ninja artillery?

The book by Jeff Rovin (not based on any movie) was really cool, you could tell he took MK *very* seriously.
I also recognized the author because he had written some TMNT strategy guides.
The only thing I didn't like was Scorpion being Yong Park and having to merge with his son, Tsui Park. (At this point in time, the name Hazno Hasashi had not been invented yet as this was before MKM.)

Are you talking about a book or the comic book? I have the novel Mortal Kombat by Jeff Rovin. It's okay, but based mainly on the first game. Unfortunately, I didn't buy the comic book when I saw it at the game store. Stupid me, I thought it would still be there on payday.

I've read the MK movie adaption, the MKA movie adaption and the Jeff Rovin book. I really liked the movie adaption, it was quite different from the actual script.

I've read this book too and I agree. I also have an OLD book/strategy guide for Super Mario Bros. 1, 2 and 3 written by Jeff Rovin as well. I didn't notice it was written by him until a few months ago, heh.
