STORY

The story starts off where Sindel has just committed suicide after Shao Kahn rapes her. Kitana is only young and witnesses the act and she runs off into the mountains with her friend Rain. They are chased by a group of Shao Kahn’s minions and are nearly killed in a battle with Nomads. A few days later Shao Kahn heals her, erasing her memories, and tells her that she is his daughter.

Skipping ahead more than ten thousand years in Outworld the Emperor has turned Edenia into a war zone. Shokan and Centaurs are in a war and the Nomads and remaining Edenians are attacking Shoa Kahn’s empire. Kitana, now a grown woman, is his personal assassin along with Mileena who is a clone. When Shao Kahn releases the demon Shang Tsung from Hell after he lost to Kung Lao they devise a plan to destroy the Earth. Liu Kang, the Chosen One, is his descendant. While Shang Tsung and the mighty Goro go to battle on Earth at the Mortal Kombat tournament Shao Kahn receives a vision of Kitana siding with the Earth.

From there on he locks Kitana away in a tower guarded by Reptile and he searches for answers to this dilemma. Kitana escapes and she hides in a mountain range where she is rescued by the enigma Jade. Mileena is able to read her thoughts and can tell that she is regaining her memory too. Mileena sets off with Reptile to find her and along the way they meet a group of Nomads being led by the merciless Baraka. Battle ensues and on the other side of Outworld Rain and his men are searching for her. They encounter trouble too as they are picked off by a vampire named Nitara.

While these events unfold Shao Kahn settles the wars between the Shokan and Centaurs by siding with King Gorbak and by enlisting Kintaro as the new general they drive all of the Centaurs out of the land. Meanwhile a group of Edenians, led by Jade, are healing Kitana and trying to revive her memories. They tell her that she is needed to help with the war and Rain must be saved too. She helps by sneaking into the ruins of Jerrod, former king, and she is able to remember her past.

From there on Kitana and her new friends go on a war against Shao Kahn. Baraka and Mileena form a partnership, Reptile goes to Earth and Nitara is defeated by Rain. But will Shang Tsung accomplish his mission or has Shao Kahn already lost the battle?

CHARACTERS

Shao Kahn is your typical warlord and evildoer and lives in his massive fortress the Black Tower. He has been recruiting Outworld residents for his army when he invades the Earth after winning the tournament. He has a signature war hammer he uses to destroy those that oppose his will.

Kitana is Shao Kahn’s personal assassin and she has been hunting down a renegade group of Edenians opposing her master. She cannot remember her past and Mileena is said to be her partner and sister. Kitana is not as vicious as her comrades though.

Shang Tsung is the leader of a faction of Shadow Priests and he has the souls of a thousand defeated warriors. Shao Kahn has ordered him to win the tenth tournament to open the portal from Outworld to Earth. He must consume the soul of Liu Kang first though if he is to succeed at all.

Mileena is the twin sister and clone of Kitana. Her mask hides the ugly truth and she is a vicious killer. Because of her abilities to read the thoughts of Kitana she is a valuable asset to Shao Kahn.

Reptile is Shao Kahn’s loyal “pet”. He keeps a close eye on him and has the most respect for him. He is chosen to watch events unfold on Earth, keeping an eye on Shang Tsung, both as a bodyguard and spy. Upon coming back to Outworld he informs the Emperor on Shang Tsung’s failure.

Baraka is one of the rebels that have been defying Shao Kahn’s rule and he has been hatching a plan to overthrow him. He falls in love with the assassin Mileena after once fighting her and then saving her from death at the hands of the Centaurs and Shao Kahn recruits him.

Kintaro is a Shokan warrior that was recruited by the Emperor to lead a group of his army. He is powerful, deadly and intelligent in battle. He will stop at nothing until the Shokan are feared by all.

Jade has been sent by her Edenian captains to try and save the princess from giving into the forces of darkness. Armed with a spear she is good enough to fend off a group of Shokan warriors.

Smoke is a member of the Lin Kuei who has been trapped in Outworld. His mission was to locate a lost crystal for Shang Tsung and he was sent to Outworld. He is hiding in the Living Forest.

Rain is a young and reckless warrior being trained by Shao Kahn to help invade Earth. He has blurred memories of his past with Kitana.

Nitara is a vampire trying to separate her realm from Outworld by using a mystic orb. Rain thwarts her plans.

Noob Saibot is one of Shang Tsung’s more valuable Shadow Priests and he is a deadly assassin. Because of his power over darkness many fear him.

King Gorbak is the king of the Shokan and father of Goro. He has lent a large number of people into the service of Shao Kahn.

Sindel is the former Queen of Outworld. She kills herself after rape at the hands of Shao Kahn.

Ermac is created by Shao Kahn as a symbol of power to scare Kitana into obeying his orders.

Rayden is the protector of Earth and the Thunder God. He helps Liu Kang in defeating Shang Tsung.
