Well, I've had this CD for years:

Anyways, I was listening to it, and although it has a few decent songs, I was wondering; what do any of these songs have to do with the first MK movie?

It's not like any of them are used in the movie, or in the credits or something. Where did they get these songs?

The only songs related in anyway to MK:

IT HAS BEGUN - Psykosonik - Has some cool soundbytes from the first movie.

HIGHER - ALIEN FACTORY - I *THINK* the start of this song was used in MKA right when Raiden is about to fight the Raptors. I may be wrong, but that would be weird if I was right (MK:MK came out in 96, MKA about a year later in 97...)

FATALITY - Loaded - Soundbytes from MKII

OUTWORLD - G//Z/R - Awesome dialogue relating to the movie

---

So, besides being a pretty good CD imo, and the cool ass cover, what was this CD about?

It's puzzled me for a while...

Wow, how lame, I didn't know this was a common as it is. I feel like they were tricking ppl into thinking it contained songs from the movie, not released on the "Original Motion Picture Soundtrack" or "Score". It should have said; "inspired by the movie" or something.

I have the commerical for MK:MK on the first episode of MK:DOTR, I'll check it out later and see if it says anything about not featuring songs from the movie tongue

Yeah, I don't even remember picking it up! Dunno if you would be able to find it in a regular music store these days, but maybe, as the regular soundtrack is still widely available. If not, you can always buy it off the internet.
If you want to check it out, you can hear the songs: here

I personaly like the songs (now, didn't when I got it) but I was a little disappointed that there aren't more pictures from the movie in the CD jacket. I think the Soundtrack had the same problem, so I thought MK:MK should have made up for it. Guess not.
There's a cool one of the arena before Liu fights Sub Zero on the back cover, and inside there is a shot of an Edenian/Outworld statue (one that Reptile falls into), the floor of the Black Tower and a giant Edenian stone head. Not enough!
