Didn't they do that in MKA? And look how that turned out! I prefer how MK1 stayed mostly true to the storyline, and incorporated game aspects in a subtle, cool way. Things like Reptile's acid spit and invisibility, Sub Zero's freezing and Raiden's lightning. The costumes and entire theme of the film were more 'dark' than the waaaayyy too colourful MKA. I hope they return to that style for MK3, and if that means sacrificing elements of the games to make the movie better, so be it.
I do want proper fatalities though...
