Watching Mortal Kombat Conquest series I noticed a few similarities to games that came out later on.
SPOILERS BELOW:
Episode: Noob Saibot
Before Noob Saibot got released, Siro and Taja fought two red ninjas that popped out of the statues of themselves. It reminded me a lot of the way Ermac popped out of his statue in Shaolin Monks.
Episode: Debt of the Dragon
The son of the leader of Black Dragon, who later becomes the leader looks a lot like Mavado. (Yes, I do realize that Mavado was leading the RED Dragon, but nevertheless, the similarity is uncanny.
Episode: Unholy Alliance
Ah yes... Shang Tsung and Quan Chi make an alliance. Just like in MKDA. Not only that, but then Shang Tsung turns on Quan Chi, much like in the intro to Deception.
That's all for now, but still, they're very strong similarities. I think it's entirely possible that Ed Boon got those ideas from the show. Could it be that he was tapping for fresh ideas from an unpopular show after John Tobias left the team?

Well it's not like the way the guards came out of their statue forms was very original in itself. Statue popping up and people coming from the inside is pretty overdone.
How the hell does the black dragon guy look like Mavado? Uncanny similarity? More like imaginary.

The show was popular. But Iif the team was 'tapping ideas' you'd think that alot more of them would show up in the games?
And I can't believe you didn't mention Master (Bo' Rai) Cho.

You mean comparing him to the Shang Tsung's former master?

Have you ever thought that they were actually trying to introduce us to the Deadly Alliance before the game actually came out?

How about you show some respect around here, that was totally uncalled for

Relax yourself, you're acting like I cursed at him or something. I just get tired of Zentile always attacking the 'easy' targets around here. Funny thing is you want me to show him some respect. Fuk off.

Oh mai!!!1 . Call the coast guard, I'm ''attacking easy targets'' . The man spoke things that made no sense to me, so I said it. I didn't even call the thread maker any names or insulted him at all... so I dont see how that was an attack. Obviously, even if I had flamed him out of the website, I wouldn't give a rat's ass about what you think of it, although yes I do give enough shit to write this reply because it does make me feel smarter and better about myself
Oh I'm such a losar!!111!!!!

I'm talking about in general, you tend to have a very negative attitude to the 'easy targets' who are probably 10-12 years old. Go attack them if you want, I bet that's the only way you'll feel big anyway. And chill with the sarcastic shit, think of something new; You're whole attitude is becoming tiresome.
Oh no = ( you discovered my secret, I'm aroused by picking on the easy targets. And you discovered my second secret, sarcasm is the air that I breath !!!
What, you dont like the sarcasm? I guess I'll REALLY work hard on trying to find another way to post. Thanks for warning me, buddy!

I'm surprised no one pointed this out about Quan Chi and Shang Tsung before, but here goes.
According to the MKM instruction booklet (Remember that MKM came out before MKC) Shang Tsung and Quan Chi had already had some deals worked out with each other. It was Shang Tsung who learned the location of the Map of Elements (by stealing Kung Lao's soul and getting the information that way). He revealed the location to Quan Chi; who in turn agreed to taint Sindel's soul with evil (with the help of Shinnok).
Therefore, it is my conclusion that the Quan Chi/Shang Tsung deals in MKC were based on the game, and not the other way around.

Personally I think it just fits. I dont think the folks at MKC needed to know that Shang and Quan had worked before in MKM to create the Unholy Alliance angle. Shang Tsung's a badass. So is Quan Chi. Both Sorcerors who are into betraying and stuff. They were just meant for each other. Though I'd like to ask the producers of the show if they did get the idea from Mythologies.

I never thought about all of that, and it makes so much sense.
That sucks! The show sucked! Now I know why MKDeception sucked!

Emm...I'm sorry but no one have noticed the most important resemblance:
Kira is a perfect copy of Taja and also Kung Lao isn't the old master defeated by Goro, but is the actual Kung lao(you can see his fighting attire in the first episode) Qali is like Jade,Tomas(just one episode with him "Twisted truth") is very similar to Johnny cage

I didn't really watch much of this series. It never seemed very Mortal Kombat-like to me. It seemed to be more of a Hercules-Xena-Hercules type of syndicated show that was on a lot during this time. I think maybe if they at least had some signature characters playing regular parts it would have been better. I know they were on a few but not many. And maybe perhaps instead of making it a prequel they could have made stories that happened between Mortal kombat 3 and 4. Where Shao Kahn was defeated and perhaps it shows all the bad guys struggling for power or something....
