Part I

When Shao Kahn fails Shinnok swears vengeance for himself and his son. He hires his head sorcerer, Quan-Chi, to travel to earth and destroy Raiden. Because Raiden is an Elder God he asks the guardian of the winds, Fujin, to recruit heroes new and old. Liu Kang, Sonya and Jax find help from fighting monks Kai and Kung Lao, the Black Dragon member Jarek, Sub-Zero and Princess Kitana. But Quan-Chi has summoned many great warriors including Reptile, Reiko the general of Shinnok’s armies, Kitana’s evil twin Mileena, the cyborg Sektor and the beautiful spy Tanya. Baraka however has plans on destroying everyone in his way to kill Liu Kang. To help them out Raiden has resurrected Johnny Cage to join the heroes.

The earth warriors go to Outworld and they destroy Quan-Chi’s generals. Quan-Chi flees for safety and stumbles upon the ancient tomb of the Dragon King. He confronts Shinnok and he is damned for failing Shinnok. Quan-Chi uses Shinnok’s amulet to destroy him but Scorpion comes with an unconscious Sub-Zero. Quan-Chi betrays him and threatens to destroy him so Scorpion beats him up and drags him down to his lair forever. Meanwhile Liu Kang makes peace with Kung Lao, the Special Forces capture Reptile and we see Shao Kahn being resurrected by his shadow priests. In the end Quan-Chi says he will have vengeance and next time he will be “much more deadly ”

On to Part II

Quan-Chi has searched all of hell for a partner: Shang Tsung. He escapes from Scorpion and he manages to escape into a portal back to the Dragon King’s Tomb. He uses Shang Tsung to bring souls to the Dragon Army. Next they go to see Shao Kahn and they destroy him. Now that he is out of the way they go as far as killing Liu Kang. Knowing that Raiden will gather enemy forces the sorcerers hire Mavado and Hsu Hao. Next they resurrect Kano, Moloch, Drahmin and the ice ninja Frost. Raiden steps down from Elder God status and he recruits Kitana, Jax, Sonya, Kung Lao, Johnny Cage, Bo Rai’ Cho, Sub-Zero and Kenshi. Li Mei has managed to escape Outworld and she helps the Earth warriors.

After the warriors begin to battle Scorpion breaks out of Hell. The sorcerers kill Li Mei, Kenshi appears searching for vengeance on Shang Tsung and the Onis are released to destroy the ninja specter. The battles continue and Kung Lao kills Shang Tsung and he throws his body into the acid of his palace. Johnny Cage and Kitana kill the Onis and Sub-Zero has the last battle with Quan-Chi and wins but spares his life. Shang Tsung’s soulnado is destroyed and the earth warriors escape to their home realm. The only one left is Reptile who is fused with the spirit of the Dragon King.
