What do you think would work better in the new Mortal Kombat movie? In both the Rebirth pitch and the Mortal Kombat Legacy series, Sonya and Jax have been part of the Deacon City police rather than Special forces like they are in the game. To be honest, I think it would have made more sense for them to be called special forces; I don't know if normal police officers would use military-grade weapons to take on a hardcore group of terrorist arms-dealers with the newest, most dangerous weapons.

I think the Deacon City Police worked in MK Rebirth because the basic premise was that the city was being terrorized by a bunch of freak serial killers who were going to an underground tournament. But Legacy and (hopefully) the movie are more faithful to the game, I think it would make more sense if Sonya and Jax were Special Forces rather than police officers.
