Mortal Kombat 3: Devastation!!!

After Liu Kang, Sonya, and Jax defeated the forces of Outworld and prevented its merger with Earth, Shang Tsung exacts his revenge by forming an alliance with the powerful sorcerer Quan Chi. Together, they open a portal to Earth in a bid for ultimate domination. Lord Rayden, now an elder god, becomes dismayed by this horrific turn of events and calls forth the warriors of Mortal Kombat once more. Discovering a loophole in the rules of the tournament, and needing every ounce of help he can get, Rayden summons forth the soul of deceased warrior Johnny Cage and resurrects him so that he may join his fellow fighters and send Shang Tsung and his allies back to hell once and for all.

More news to feast on, Kombatants. Russell Mulcahy (Highlander), director for MK: Devastation, has said to be signed on for a fourth MK film. Reportedly, Threshold is aiming to completely FORGET Mortal Kombat: Annihilation due to poor attitude surrounding it, and instead sort of have MK: Devastation be bet the sequel to the first MK movie. Not only that, but a fourth one is supposed play off MK.

The Storyline is totally wrong, because MK: Devastation is a sequel of MK: The Movie, not MK: Annihilation...

Man, I was hoping Shang would stay dead and have Shinnok come and allign with Quan Chi. Or Quan Chi alone as a villain.

I was hoping people would stop just going to imdb, pick up a bunch of OLD BULLSHIT lies, and paste them here. Now that's something I really hope for.

Forget MK Annihilation?
I don't think so. If they're making it a sequel os the first movie, what, are they gonna fight Shao Kahn again? You can't disregard the fact that Shao Kahn DOES appear in the end of the first movie. They can't just throw that in the garbage.
And if they think that Annihilation sucked, well, suck it up and try to make it better next time. It's not like you can simply ignore a sequel that didn't do too well and do another version. It doesn't work like that. IMHO, a movie loses all its credibilty by doing that.

they decided not to count annihilation because not only the movie turned out bad, but they also messed up the storyline ( shao khan being raiden;s brother, raiden fighting 3 reptiles - for no reason and out of nowhere, sheeva dying, shinnock being tossed into another dimension -or something like that- by the elder gods, rain dying, shao khan dying).
what i don;t understand is how come raiden is an elder god ( which is represented thru smoke ........the god of thunder which shoots lightning btw is represented by smoke........) and how they can resurect johnny cage if he was still alive at the end of the first movie ( and pretty damn popular for beating scorpion and goro). the last thing to add to this is that i don;t see Anderson's name as director........and why is that? we all know he's directing it.
because of all that ^ i think this thread is based on lies to start with. you can't make a sequal to the mk movie and ignore mk: annihilation, but still count in MK3 what happened in mk2 -which they just stated they;re pushing aside. how much sese does that make? does anyone know what i mean?

Zentile quote: RE: New MK3 Info!!

I was hoping people would stop just going to imdb, pick up a bunch of OLD BULLSHIT lies, and paste them here. Now that's something I really hope for.

1. I did NOT get this info from imdb.

2. It is not old info because it was dated being around late this last October, but I posted it almost a week ago.

3. If you feel they are all lies then that is your problem. We won't know whether its true or not until we get the official info on MK3.

(Please exuse the way I quoted you since I'm not yet familiar with how this all works.)
