I just got that impression coz they were talking about series 2 being the tournament.. i always had the impression maybe series 2 would have the backstories of liu kang, kung lao, kabal, goro, bo rai cho, etc.. and maybe have glimpses of the tournament/ island, but that the actual tournament would be held off for the movie. i did read it very late, so maybe was jumpin at shadows

I just love a good setup is all, lol.
Regardless what they do for a series 2, I still prefer it if they save the tournament for a movie.

You know, a Season 2 Tournament wouldn't be a bad follow up.

Liu Kang Kung Lao double episodes. That's 4 episodes right off the hook. Bo' Rai Cho wouldn't be a good protagonist choice for one episode though, but if anything -fat chance of happening- the two scrappys who could be implemented upon from MKD to become actual fodder to the good guys and have some history are Kobra and Kira. Black Dragon reinforcement rookies who all have fairly realistic backgrounds to work.

Hell, they could be Team Rocker for the MK heroes, I wouldn't mind. Baraka could have a nice little episode for himself. And Reptile.
