I just watched the interviews of the secong mk movie where Talisa is asked about the Fite scenes.

She gives the impression that she didnt no how to do any martial arts before doing the actual second movie which was a total drag anyway.

I didnt no this b4. sadsadsad

It is almost certain that she used a stunt double, an actress like her doesn't seem to have any martial arts skills. guess she was just choosen to the role because of her pretty face & nice body... i really hate it when in a film, you can notice that in a certain fight scene, there is not the true actor, but a double... unfortunately Mortal Kombat Conquest has loooooooots of scenes like this. only Daniel Bernhardt (Siro), played his character without stunt doubles..

hey lastfighter, i didn't say i hated THE stuntmen, what i ment, was that i hate the parts when you can clearly see, that the guy is a stunt double, and not the original actor. like, in Conquest, some of Kung Lao's fights, clearly show a double that is not even asian (you can see this well in the episode 05 - the essence, when Kung Lao fights Vorpax/Qali). i hate thoose scenes that the producers didn't even made an effort to hide the double's face. ssome of the scenes are well filmed, but others show that kind of errors. Wich annoys mesad

it annoys everyone but again common actors can't do stunts, and you can't
blame directors and cameramen for playing the scenes with stunt doubles,'cause in a fightng scens the camera angle are close to the action.
so it' almost impossible to hide the face of the stunt-men.

A good director knows how to hide the faces, or at least make the faces look like the actors they are representing; you're forgetting that MK: Annihilation was a terrible movie, and thus, chose terrible actors and had terrible cuts, terrible costumes, a terrible script, so it's no wonder that the stunts and effects were terrible as well.

It's official, in MK Annihilation, Dana Hee (who played Mileena in the same film, and Siann in MK: Conquest) did the stunt doubling of Kitana.

What I can't figure out is why they didn't hire a martial artist for the part or train her like the Matrix and Electra did with its actors. Maybe she just didn't have enough time or even want to learn.

I agree with you on this especially when Shang Tsung was fighting his old teacher master Cho. You can clearly see that half the fight was not Bruce Locke.

What's your problem with this? That's what most actors do in most movies. Not everybody is Jackie Chan or Bruce Lee. Besides, don't tell me you could tell that Talisa Soto wasn't playing Kitana during the ''action scenes'', I never noticed it and I've seen the movies tons of times - she barely does anything anyway.
I know what interview you're talking about, she says they taught her Escrima. I still don't see what the big deal is, I'm glad they hired an actress to play Kitana instead of a martial artist. She barely has to do anything physical in the movie, why would they get a woman that knows martial arts? A woman that knows how to act was the right way to go.

Besides, if you were only sad when you found out, that means they did their job - they made you think Talisa Soto knew how to fight, so really, why are you complaining?
